  1. Ok - here’s the update.main dealer fixed the issue by replacing the sensor. 850 bucks all up ( 4 hours labour at 160 plus an hour diagnosis). Aiieee! I’ve now sold it ;-) obviously the australian manifactured tridon sensor sensor I had installed was at fault.
  2. No codes stored. Booked in for a diagnosis tomorrow. Fingers crossed the cheap sensor I bought is the culprit. Will report back.
  3. Hi everyone. I have an Australian market Journey 2.7 V6 (I think this may be an old Chrysler engine). I had an issue where the oil light kept coming on every time the revs dropped below about 2200 rpm. Local garage diagnosed as the sensor, but reported that the one they ordered was incorrect. I ordered one from eBay which they fitted (ttps://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tridon-Oil-Pressure-Switch-Light-Engine-Bay-TPS089-fits-Journey-2-7-JC-Free-Sh/153236559507?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649). They found that the original one was also leaking oil. Now once the engine is up to temp, the light flashes (and beeps of course!) on at idle (less than about 900 rpm). Other than that the car seems fine. Oil has been changed (twice) - 0W20 first time, 5W30 currently. Garage now say its potentially more serious and to take it to the main dealer ($160/hour diagnosis fee). Before I do I'd like to gather the thoughts of the forum? Is it more likely to be my new sensor/sender not up to the job / out of spec or could it be something else. The reason I am erring towards the sensor is that we had the problem checked out about 6 months ago and was told it was ok to drive (sensor issue), and have been driving the car since with no issues apart from the beeps, and its been another month since the sensor replacement. No noises such as noisy oil pump bearings or anything like that. Timing chain and tensioners replaced about 18 months ago (shouldn't be related but would have expected any 'sludge' issues to have been identified at that point). Any input from someone knowledgeable about these engines appreciated. Cheers
