  1. READ THIS! The problem with your Journey related to the growling noise is the exhaust system. I had the exact same problem. After three attempts to fix the problem, a new exhaust system remedied the situation. I know what you are thinking... What an idiot to suggest such a thing..., but it is true. When you turn the car to the left or accelerate from a stop, somethin is causing the exhaust system parts to resonate and make this sound. Read this thread. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?showtopic=201
  2. I had the same problem occur on our Journey at 300 miles. We would hear it from a dead stop acceleration and in left turns. The final solution, after a new power steering pump was put in (wrong), was a new exhaust system from front to rear. Go ask the dealer to change it. Chrysler need a better database for information sharing between dealerships. Maybe they should read this forum!
  3. Quote: from Radon360 I've noticed something similar when making a moderate to hard left turn. It sort of reminded me of a cavitation sound in the power steering. Not certain as to where it's coming from. It could also be a problem in the CV joint. I only experience it in left turns though. ________________________ I just picked mine up from the service department for the third time. First time; replaced power Steering Pump. Nope. Second time; separated AC lines. Nope. Now I call Chrysler and start a case file on the car. Third time; dealer replaced entire exhaust system. No more noise ('cavitation sound') when turning left. There seems to be a cerain amount of whine that is just associated with the drivetrain. Turn up Sirius channel 62 and it seems to go away! I hope this will help someone else experiencing the same problem.
