I was having shifting problems with my 2009 Journey. Took it to 2 different shops and they both told me I needed a rebuild. $3500 to get it rebuilt. So I took it to another mechanic for a third opinion. He went through it and found that it was a a sensor inside the transmission. It cost me parts and labor $250. I’m back on the road and haven’t had any issues since.
I found that most mechanic shops will tell you rebuild cause they can make money. But what they don’t tell you is that with a rebuild they rebuild the mechanics internally, but they don’t do any of the electronics in side with the rebuild. So the it will still act the same.
