I think the powertrain control module stopped sending signal to the alternator to produce a charge. You need to reset your PCM. To reset the PCM, turn the ignition to ON position, wait for the charging system light to go off, then turn the ignition off. Repeat this two more times, then start the engine. The alternator should put out about 14.3 volts.
