  1. Thanks for the info, Ill definitely check into it!
  2. So I had the battery disconnect for about an hour. I reconnected it and after switching everything over from metric to US, drove home. About 20 miles. It still says the driver rear tire has no data. At this point I'm farily certain it's the tpms module and not the sensor on the wheel. Anyone have any idea what the dealer is gonna charge to take a look at it?
  3. I just disconnected it from the fuse box area. gonna leave it off for about an hour and then see what it does on the way home. Ill keep you all posted.
  4. Can i disconnect the battery while the wheel is still on?
  5. Well when i got new tires i had tire barn install the new sensor. I asked them if they had to program it and they said no its a dodge so it should program itself after so many miles. Well it never did anything. I went back to tire barn a few weeks later and they walked around the car with some kind of tool with an antenna on it and said all were giving off a frequency except the new one. So that made me think that maybe the new one was broken or something. The other day i moved that tire to the front but on my dash it still says the rear tire has no reading. So im not sure if its the module in the car of if its the sensor on the wheel that's bad.
  6. Hmm, alright ill have to do some digging. Gonna try and disconnect the battery for a bit before i take it in to get serviced. Hopefully its just something i can replace at home without having to have a garage do it.
  7. Any ideas on how to replace the pick up sensor? Or where its located even?
  8. I have a 2012 Dodge Journey 2.4 2wd. When i bought the car it said service tpms. It said the driver rear tire didn't exist or didn't have a sensor. (just 3 little lines.) I replaced the sensor with a new one from Autozone. When I removed the old one it had the same numbers on it and same frequency as the new one. I installed the new one and inflated it to 36 psi. Ive driven the car over 3,000 miles now and its still doing the same thing. I didnt disconnect the battery Maybe I should have? I rotated the tires the other day so that tire with the new sensor is on the front now. My dash still shows that the driver rear tire is dead. Shouldn't it have moved to the front? Or is maybe that sensor or module in the wheel well faulty.
  9. Alright thanks. Im thinking I might just wire them directly to the low beams with a relay. Ive heard other people wire them that way with no problems.
  10. Wow that video was really helpful. I swore i read somewhere that it was a huge pain to switch from the 4 inch to the 8 inch. Guess i was wrong. I will definitely be doing that upgrade. As for why i bought a base model in the first place, It was like a last minute credit builder for me. I could only get approved for a car at the one lot and this is the only journey he had that had relatively low miles and wasn't beat up. Im not worried getting my money out of it because with what im paying after paying off the loan is way way more than i could ever sell this thing for. So for that reason and the fact that im gonna have it for probably at least 5 years or so id rather spend the the money and make it look nice. Thanks for the help everyone. One last thing. Is the wiring for the fog lights already there? mine just has the honeycomb plastic covers and i would really like to have the factory fog lights instead.
  11. Hello everyone! I recently purchased a 2012 Journey. Its a base model so it doesn't have any of the nice stuff the better models like the sxt or the r/t has. I was wondering how much stuff off of a nicer model would swap onto mine to make it look better. For example Mine does not have the LED tail lights. It just has the regular bulb type. Could I just swap LED tail lights onto mine from a journey that had them? Things I would like to change are the tail lights, maybe fog lights since mine does not have any, Headlights, maybe power seats if the wiring is there. I also heard you could get the journey with a third row seat? Mine just has the extra storage space in the back but if i could mount the brackets back there and throw the seat in i would do it in a heart beat. Plus any other upgrades you guys would recommend. I would love to put the better radio in it but i heard its a huge pain to go from the 4 inch screen to the bigger one so ill stick with the small one.
  12. Hello all. I have a 2012 Dodge journey that I'm wanting to install an overhead DVD player for the backseat. My journey is a base model so all it has is the little 4 inch screen. I was wondering if anyone has installed one and has any tips or tricks. I'm not sure where I'm going to get the power wires from. There is no dome light where the DVD player would go. Also I have side airbags so I don't think I can run them beside the headliner. Is there wiring on top of the headliner I can splice into? Also how should I mount it? The player has an 11 inch screen so I don't think just screwing it into the headliner is a great idea. Thanks everyone!
