I used 3 cans, yes they are the rattle ones.

Cool. I was watching a video on steps and they had 4 showing and then cans of a graphite finish coat. The local Autozone has the Plastidip on the shelf but none of the graphite.

My DJ is white and I was thinking maybe do the rims, grill crosshair and mirrors  as an inexpensive and reversible custom project. Not really a big fan of the crosshair grill in general so black it out seems like a win to me for a different look.

Not a fan of having to look down at the Nav screen.  The vent mount I use puts it at eye level, so I don't have to take my eyes off of the road.

I considered one but I live in the south and that cold air blasting the phone and then stepping out into our high humidity didn't seem like a good thing.  We have a month and a half yearly where if you are in the car for 20 minutes or more your eye glasses are going to fog over as soon as you step out.

Also, unless you are a gecko you are likely taking your eyes off the road to look, you just don't have to go as far to look.

  3. I got a Koomus Magnetos CD slot holder from Amazon. It has a mount that slips into the CD slot and then a magnetic post/plate to hold the phone itself.  The phone plate is thin enough to slip inside the case without notice at all. It says you can still use the CD player but you have to remove the holder to swap CD's.

I have the iPhone 6s+ and there was no place to put the phone except rattling around the cup holder. This mount puts the phone right in front of the fan control but its still accessible and the cup holders are free too. Works great when using Goole Maps for a navigation aid. Theres an updated version of the holder for a few $ more that looks good too and might not block the fan control at all.

  4. About 2 weeks in on my new "to me" Journey SXT.  It found me after 27k miles and was neat as a pin. Color is white which is what I wanted and it has the tan and black interior.
Its my first Dodge product as I have been a Ford truck owner for about as long as I can remember. My previous Ranger was bumping 325k and was having issues that I couldnt solve so it was time to go. The Journey popped up at the right time as I needed something to pull a small boat and not break the bank. Prices on trucks are through the roof these days. I was looking at settling on a full size truck with over 100k miles for the same money as my DJ so it was an easy choice to go with this. So far its been really nice not having to worry about when this or that part was going to go.

According to my mechanic the Pentastar is a pretty reliable engine. Its been in production long enough to have all the design kinks worked out and parts are available just about anywhere and literally millions on the road.
I'm averaging 23+ mpg in daily driving in the foothills and have seen 29.5 mpg on the single road trip I made across some flat delta. Woot!

All in all I am pretty happy so far.
