  1. Welcome. I will give ya the run down on just a few things to change or upgrade to keep everything smooth.

OEM brakes suck. Look for lots of brake dust and needing replaced from 8k-20k miles. I suggest change to ceramic dust free :)

OEM windshield wipers suck as well. Go ahead and grab some Anco's.

OEM headlights are decent, but would suggest brighter halogen or HID's like a few members have done, and mine will be installed soon as well. (thread on these in accessories)

That is pretty much all of the bad. Everything is fine, may have to get use to the cruise control when in 6th gear with 5mph +/- flux. If you have ANY questions, just ask :)

  2. Yeah, I'm sure my wife would go nuts if I started curring and glassing her the doors in the Journey! She consider's it her car, I drive the F150.

We have the infinity OEM package in our Journey, at up to medium volume levels it has a good response and enough bass.

with no seperate midbass or sub it struggles at higher volume when I'm driving on my own.

If you really want to make a difference, I can find you a nice component set in your price range to help. Grab a set of plates to run 6.5 comp set instead of the 6x9's. Run an amplifier to them, and you will be more than happy.

  3. I myself do not do much installing. After I hurt my back, that relaly done it in for me lol. I do however have a VERY good friend who has a local shop and can do pretty much anything tht needs to be done. He does fiberglass, video, audio, alarm, and so forth. He has been installing for around 20 year. He has had 5+ cars on front cover of mags. If you want it done right, I will highly recommend him. I just build subwoofers and know A LOT of technical info ;)

As for putting the video up there, do you have rear air?

I can also have him look more in depth at mine to see what it takes to add an 8 in the rear panel. I am sure he can do it though, have not seen much that could stop him. Hit me up on yahoo chat or email and I can show you some work. lowhz01 lowhz01@yahoo.com

  4. Our bumpers were urethane, but trims were plastic. If you know what you are doing maybe it will work, but I have seen it done around here with bad results. Could be shitty shops too. I'm just waiting on a billet accessory for it or cutting.

  5. I have seen many paint jobs on plastic (like the avalanche and ford escape body armor) and the paint just doesn't last. Once you get a chip it flakes easy and cracks. Could be our climate, but in the southeast that is what we get. I had a Ford Explorer and the body armor was painted, nothing but issues and looked like crap :(

  6. Hey guys, I did HIDs a while ago and did a write up about it, step by step with pictures:

    http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?showtopic=924

HIDs has come up time and time again. We need to start using the search function before we create a new thread.

This is like the 8th or 10th thread about this.

All your questions has come up and been answered. Check out the other threads.

    Quick answers:

    1. You MUST use a relay harnest! HIDs will not work on a Dodge Journey with out it.

    2. Your better off buying a relay harnest. They start at about $12 bucks. If you build one, it comes up to the same price or more. If you build one, the relay by itself is like $12 bucks. I know because I been there, done that.

    3. HIDs for high beams is NOT the best thing to do. If you need to flash someone, they take way too long to start up (someone already pointed this out, and they are right) Also, you will run into a whole new set of problems with HID high beams.

    4. Depending on your Journey, you don't need projector head light lens. Dodge designed the Journey with the future in mind. From what I have found out, our head lights are already projectors. Check the driver side door label. Mine says my journey may already have HIDs in it. They already designed it for HIDs. (Smart company!)

Thats probably why the stock headlights suck and A LOT of people are going with HIDs in thier Journey's.

GUYS, CHECK OUT THE STEP BY STEP THREAD! IT WILL SAVE YOU FROM HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS EVERYONE ELSE HAS

    ALREADY HAD.

Good luck and enjoy the HIDs.

Got to read the thread pimp, this was about saving money on a set!
