  1. You were right about the top part as well. Once I removed the lower panel, there were two screws exposed. After removing them, I was able to pull the whole tray and lid out.

Anyway, long story short, I got everything apart and applied plasti dip to them, but unfortunately with those horizontal grooves in the panel, it looked horrible. I peeled it and put it all back together. I guess I'll have to find a replacement, I thought I saw a thread where someone had used the dash out of an R/T or something....

  2. My Nitro had a rubber pad on the top. There were two screws under it. I'm not sure about the compartment door, but once you get the faceplate off, the screws may be visible. The panel should just pry off with a panel removal tool (plastic screwdriver). I'd start at the bottom and be careful around the radio. I actually broke mine, and ended up covering the panel with a carbon fiber kit. If you get resistance at the top, there may be more screws related to the top compartment. The vents are clipped to the panel from the inside, if they are like the Nitro. If they fall off, you can just clip them back on. The heater knob panel will have to be unplugged along with the row of switches under the vents. All of this is just like the Nitro, but laid out a little differently. Hope this helps. I wouldn't know where to begin with my dash, but it is probably as easy as my Nitro. I could remove my Nitro panel in about 2 minutes!

Went out and gave the bottom a little more of a tug than before and it came loose, so thanks for that. Now to just figure out how to remove the door on the top compartment. Thanks!

  3. Great thread, thought this would be an interesting addition. I stumbled on this video in titoboyjourney's gallery:

    http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/gallery/image/1689-20141010-182110/

When I asked him about it, he said he bought 2 cannon style mufflers off ebay for $50 a piece and paid $70 to have them welded in.

I'm not sure what a flowmaster setup costs, but $170 seems super reasonable for that sound.

  4. I have a 2009 DJ SXT and I can't stand that faux chrome center bezel on my dash. I am going to plasti dip my badges and front grill and would also like to do the center bezel of the dash. I've searched the forum for the last couple days trying to find instructions on removing it and haven't found anything.

For reference, here is a picture of the dash.

I also can't figure out how to remove the top compartment door.

Anyway, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  5. maybe they are on the site server... check his profile page.

Nope, nothing there. I've decided I'm gonna plasti dip my center stack, but I can't find any information on removing the bezel. Also, I can't figure out how to remove the door to the top compartment either...I think I'll start a new thread since I've done my due diligence searching the forum.

  6. Hello everyone, I just bought a used 2009 DJ SXT and so far I am pretty happy with it. Was super clean and still bone stock. I am hoping to make some modifications over the next few months including:

    Immediate List:

    Rims

    Vent Visors

    Future List:

UConnect Module (Or a whole new head unit)

    Android Tablet in dash

    Aftermarket Headlights and Taillights

    Blacked out Emblems

    And who knows what else!!!!

Glad I stumbled on this forum, see ya around.

  7. Hi guys, new here. Just bought a 2009 DJ and am pretty happy so far. When I bought it, I noticed the UConnect buttons on the radio and didn't give it another thought, assuming it was indeed equipped. You can imagine my disappointment when I hit the button and my head unit returned the a message telling me UConnect not installed.

So the above is good news, can anyone provide a link to the right thing to get please.

    Thanks...

EDIT: Just did some research and am surprised at the cost of the module. Doesn't seem worth it to me, I can just install an aftermarket head unit with the features I want and more for the same price. Sorry for the counterproductive post. :(
