  1. Mine is doing the same thing.. exactly 1yr 15 days.. bloody rubbish. Well going to the stealership to have the unit replaced.
  2. I have this issue as well.. After 10 months of owning brand new the AWD light flashes like a banshee if I play with the vehicle in snow with traction off.. Never had this issue playing in the snow before with my other German AWD vehicles. Anyhow, haven't made it to the stealership yet to see if they could 'reset it' or if there actually is an issue with the AWD sensor. It does reset itself after a while though.
  3. I used my old JL Audio 12" BP in my trunk of the DJ and put JL amp under the driver seat and ran the wiring and bass control.. I have the upgraded stereo 8.4 uConnect as well. I just tapped into the low. Trust me, this JL thumps now as I hated the weak flimsy sub that came with the upgraded system. I am normally running the bass at -7 now and the cabin acts as the enclosure.
  4. Yes, Chryslers trannies are quite finicky.. however I admit they have gotten better over the years.. much better since i owned a manual tranny YJ back in the day. Stealership have not found / pinpointed the issue yet. Just an side bar - I do not beat my trannies either.. (let the fluids warm before driving off, coming to a complete stop before moving into Reverse).. basically drive like a grandpa in this vehicle. As for my german comment, yes Audi / VW do have their gremlins.. actually all manufactures do. Its just what would you be acceptable living with as a particular gremilin in your car.. is the question at this point.
  5. Who knows.. i do know that my odometer is creeping up to the 10k mark (9600km / 5965mi) and the brakes do seem to have settled from the initial break in period. I have jammed the brakes a few times (alone, no one around me) from 50-60mph just to test my theory. Brakes are definitely better. Still very interested in Frogbox's upgrade off the older GC SRT8. Question, what are the size rim on the SRT8, 20" or larger? I do know with my 19" there is clearance (going from memory, don't quote me ~1-2") to rim. I wonder if the stockies would still work (for winter rubber).
  6. i have a '14 R/T with 4k on it now and it shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd and clunks in reverse.. Happened since day 1. I've given up with the gripping and lived with it.. the stealership cannot find the problem.. Actually I know what my problem is, I should've stayed with a German vehicle... There is absolutely no comparison.
  7. Currently at 3206km.. hmmm i am monitoring but still hitting 12.3L average.. Maybe still breaking in. I'll let you know if it goes down after my next oil change.
  8. Frogbox.. sir you have now seriously peeked my curiousity..
  9. I'm shocked as the best I can muster is 10.9.. I am averaging 12.3 combined city/hwy. I'm trying for the rated 8.9.. the numbers you all have obtained, are you running the 6cyl or the 4cyl? I'm curious...
  10. I'll give you an update now.. up to over 3k on the vehicle. The brakes seem better however I have definitely changed my braking habits as if I use the brakes alot (stop and go traffic from 60-0) I do notice heat soak. So I just flip over to manual and gear down to assist with the braking. Maybe I am used to german braking and how it stops on a dime but still monitoring it. If I find that it continues, I will definitely return to the stealership and have them look it over. I can look and fix, reseat, replace the brakes myself but why would I.. its under warranty and I shouldn't have too. I've also looked at possible new pads but as Frogbox mentioned, not much out there since so new.. Side note, as I know the brakes will wear on me.. has anyone ever attempted to swap brakes from one of the SRT models (Cherokee, etc.) to this? I am interested in possibly this as Dodge parts are quite interchangable with little mods and the clearance wont be an issue as I'm running 19s... Any thoughts?
  11. Hi there. Just grabbed a '14 DJ R/T. I must admit now that I'm an owner of this vehicle I have to say the brakes on this vehicle are terrible. I am not sure nor do I want to know about the previous years of the DJ as the brakes are worse.. hate to know what type of pain you all have faced. That being said, I've now at 2k on the odo and the brakes I find just do not grab at all. They suffer from heatsoak, and shutter already. Don't get me wrong, I know how to drive and work on cars. Now, I traded my BMW for this as it was a super deal and couldn't pass up. (and I know, I'm comparing apples to watermellons) but hell.. these brakes suck. My wifes '11 Ford Edge LTD stops on a dime (which I am shocked). I do like most of the vehicle however this is a real sore spot for me. I like to be able to stop when I want too and not have to gear down and brake.. This isn't a sports car. I am also not sure why Dodge stuck with DOT 3 fluid either. As I begin to tinker with the vehicle, I will be swapping out this stock set up and sourcing out a better caliper / BBK setup with a higher temp fluid.
