Richiemac Posted March 27, 2013 Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 You probably will agree with me when I say that the 140 BHP VW unit is a tad underpowered for the weight of the vehicle. But fully load the car and it struggles a bit. Does anyone else notice when you accelerate fairly hard in the automatic box, it seems to accelerate in stages, probably a second apart until it gets to the next gear change? Same thing happens in tiptronic mode, increase in revs, pause, increase in revs, gear change etc.. We're heading to France in July, six people and a roof box!!!! Any comments appreciated. Rakvilla Posted April 3, 2013 Report Share Posted April 3, 2013 Hi I got a late 2010 model with a manual box, I pulls nicely even when towing my caravan, i mean its not fast by any means and it down right slow when the engines cold but it does the job and the mpg is very good.
