  1. You probably will agree with me when I say that the 140 BHP VW unit is a tad underpowered for the weight of the vehicle. But fully load the car and it struggles a bit. Does anyone else notice when you accelerate fairly hard in the automatic box, it seems to accelerate in stages, probably a second apart until it gets to the next gear change? Same thing happens in tiptronic mode, increase in revs, pause, increase in revs, gear change etc.. We're heading to France in July, six people and a roof box!!!! Any comments appreciated. Richard
  2. George, I have an auto 2009 SXT here in N Ireland since last November, again with the 2.0 VW unit. My MPG reading ranges from 32-38MPG. Full tank mileage is 500+
  3. Hi all, my first post. Based in UK I have a 2009 Journey SXT. It does NOT have the factory fitted roof rails running front to back. I need a set of roof bars for the car to carry a roof box I have. A quick search showed me that most places only stock fittings for 2012 models onwards. I rang Dodge here in UK and they told me that the fittings for a 2012 Journey should be the same for a 2009. So I purchased a Thule 754 foot pack with a Thule 1658 fixing kit....and they fit! (At first I thought they didnt but they do, so post is edited) The fixing kit 1658 come with 2 different sized door clamps, the deeper one for the back doors. Just make sure that the loosening/tightening bolt is FULLY LOOSENED to allow the clamps to drop down far enough to clamp under the door heads, still allowing the rubber feet to sit firmly at the roof gutter. I hope this post helps 2009 Journey owners without factory fitted roof rails looking for a roof bar system. Richard.
