After Market Alarm runs down the battery

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had an Alarm installed by the Dealer?

We added one to the purchase contract and had it installed a couple of weeks later, along with a LoJack. But every time the car sat locked and armed for the weekend we had to have it towed to the dealer because the battery was dead.

After the dealer had the outside service put the alarm on and take it off 4 times, we were told it is a “Fatal Flaw” in the cars computer. So the car was returned to us without an alarm and the service dept has instructed us to request a refund of the alarm amount from the dealer.

So, no 2009 Journey’s have alarms? Or do alarms only work if the car comes from the factory with one and not with an after market installed alarm?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. We need to know if we are being told the straight truth before we give up on an alarm and try to get the money back from the dealer (which might be a battle).
