I'm interested in an aftermarket knob and would like to know what to do before I even purchase one. Never attempted this with a car that has automatic transmission before. Thanks. I wanted to switch mine out too. I was told it unscrews. I tried a little bit, but it is on there really tight. I was afraid of breaking it down in the shifter so I stopped trying.
