I have tried updating system to 50.01.07 with no success on my current radio MYGIG RB2, through a lot of searching i have released the MYGIG LOCKPICK kit is the only option to activate all futures on my radio, its quite expensive for me here in South Africa to buy and ship it here.

If you or anyone knows of other options to add rear/front camera and video out on my RB2 please share with me.

A local salvage is stripping a 2015 R/T fitted with a factory towbar, will this fit my 2010 SXT.

I recently upgraded from a RES on my SXT which had no screens, a local auto salvage is stripping a 2015 R/T fitted with the following which i would like to strip and fit in my 2010 SXT but i am not sure if they will work or fit:

1. Towbar - If this does fit is there a plug connecting the towbar to the harness, if so were is it located.

2. Uconnect Module - Will the 2015 module work on my new RB2 unit, will it be able run rear camera and PDC once installed.

3. Roof screen, AMP & SUB - to run this, will i have to strip the entire harness or can i get a connection harness plug?

4. RB2 Update - My current software is 41.00.02 can i update and which is the most current update for my RB2.

I have tried searching the forum and web but all I come up with is "Keyless entry" discussions.

My DJ started by refusing to open, I then used manual key to open the passenger door, alarm went off and inserted the key in the ignition and started the car (alarm switched off). It refused to lock afterwards even after I replaced the battery.

I'm not sure what's wrong and need urgent assistance before going to the dealer. My model does not have keyless entry nor remote start.

Can you see any interference between the tires and the suspension? I'm running 255/50R19s and I can not get my index fingernail between the front strut bottom mount and the tire. What are the width and diameter of your tires?

Currently running 275/35/20.

I missed the issue of tire size . . . .

As pointed out by dhh3 you need to also consider tire width - the unit you plan to install is very wide . . . The correct size would be 220/50R20 - same diameter and width as factory but for a 20 inch wheel. But they don't make this size for automobiles.

The narrowest common production 20" tire with about the right height would be 235/45R20 assuming your wheels aren't too wide for the 9.25" width - it is still .5" wider than stock, but a LOT narrower than what you have planned - and the speedometer will be about 1.4% higher.

If the wheels are wider you can go for a slightly taller tire, like a 245/45/20 - it is going to be very, very close. But the 245/45/20 would be the same diameter as stock, so the speedo would be right at least and the 245 would at least be an inch narrower than the tire you proposed.

So you think i should rather go with 245/45/20 instead of 275/45/20 i was planning on use.

Thanks for all your feedback, i will try correct Tyre pressure 1st on current tyres and see if they will still continue shredding at the same rate.

On long distance yes i do between 150 - 180km/h.

To start; You are running the tire pressure way too low, which is why the edges wear before the middle . . . . tire pressure should be set to 248 or 255 kpa all around with cold tires - and use a good pressure gauge to measure it.

The road surface can also be a contributor - if you drive on abrasive surfaces (in the United States they often pave roads using a technique called 'chipseal' where they embed an abrasive into the road surface) tires will wear as though you used sandpaper (which chipseal surfaces closely resemble).

Then there is the tire itself - a 'performance' tire made of soft compounds will not last long - the DJ is no lightweight. Durable tires are one of the keys. That durability is one of the items specified in US tires that may (or may not) be required in other countries. The treadwear rating is what it is called - and the higher the number, the longer the tire is likely to last.

Thanks i will add more pressure and advise results after installing new tyres which will be 275/40/20.

The black stuff on the bumper is shredded rubber. 98% of the time on tarred surface. Currently using Pirelli pzero's.

Not enough meat on those tires. Too much wheel well gap. ^^

Only issue is clearance from the front shock but I might try 275/40/20 when I'm up for replacement.

The rims don't do it for me. I prefer a lot of thin spokes.

I have taking it to check alignment twice and they said it was 100% ok but I can still visible tyre shredding even worse when loaded.

I am currently running 275/35/20 & using 220kpa all round, can anyone advise what could be causing such wear.

I'm running 275/35/20 and think its the best fit looks wise and comfort.

Good question bud, i actual have a 2010 SXT and have searched to see if there are any kits available for the 2.7 V6 and nothing came up.

Ok finally got sorted, replaced my tyre size with 245/45/20 and all worked nicely, end result is:

Spacers are now done and installed

The wheel has cleared the caliper but the tyre is still touching the shock

So I have to either get 245/45/20 tyres or make a new 35mm spacer

This is what it looked like after 20mm spacer

Ok just a quick updated, I an getting adopters fabricated for front to push out the tyre by 20mm and will be install 9mm spacers in the rear.

I will post picture tomorrow when installing.
