Would that include passenger weight? So if the fam and I plus our stuff weighs 500lbs does that mean I can only tow 500 more lbs. ?

I have a 2012 journey Canada value pack and I am thinking about getting a pop up trailer to do some camping with the fam. Will I be able to tow it? Will I have to get any kind of add on. I've never towed anything before. How much can I even haul?
