  1. I have checked that out twice, with the same result. At highway speed it tooked 30km or ± 20 minutes. Journey se +(4 cyl)
  2. Hi Canada_Jay, Vibration at highway speed. I took dely on June 9-2009, on the very first drive home; I notice abnormal vibration in the steering wheel, at highway speed, (range always steady at 105 Km/hr). Twice the car was service for 2 days, and they tried the following: -Rebalancing the original 4 mags (16"), Then service bulletin # 22-001-08 came up (April 19-2008), tires flat spot (nylon side-wall) giving wheels unbalance symptoms. So they ask me to drive the car an extra 1000 km, to iron out the flat spots, that got me furious at the service mgr. The tires are Hankook. Again they tried a second set of mag wheels and tires(identical), with the same result of vibration coming back, that set was left on the car. Please note that this is happening in the weeks that Chrysler is resuming production in Ontario, Ca. There are no car in the dealer's yard. And they told me that driver front axle was change as report on the work order. From here they stated that I was looking for perfection. I told them that the 20 000 km Grand Caravan that was lend to me had a good steering with no vibration, and I am looking for the same in my Journey. On my own, I decide to purchase and install a quality winter wheels-tires set (yes in July-28). This would point out the OEM tires set or something else. I went to visit my tire shop (last Friday), near my workplace, and we agreed that I would order from my Dodge dealer, OEM 16" steel rims, TPMS sensors etc., that I would issue to them. (And please note, that I had already purchased 4 steel mag type nut to replace the Macgard lock). Before leaving the tire shop I asked the owner to remove the Mcgard lock nuts, and he did. What a surprise the vibration was gone (98%); I drove the same roads for the next 4 days and almost perfect with the factory alu second wheel sets. Then on the next Wednesday I went for my winter wheels installation. At first I had the same 98% vibration free ride and a day later after a medium high speed right turn, the vibration settle back-in. After 50 days of driving this car and careful observation, I can tell: Vibration occurs at the 105 km speed, smooth pavement increase the amplitude. My car at very low speed (below 10 Km/hr) over bad pavement will exhibit bump-steer. Driving on the right hand lane it will be straight, in the left lane the cars want to go even more left. They have checked the alignment to be correct. It is frustating to argue with the dealer, supports comes from my friends that have noticed the steering shake. If it is a tranny issue and PCM related, can you provide an update if you still have steering wheel vibration at highway speed, and from above description, can you tell if you have experience some of it. Please any assistance is welcome. Best regards, Journey SE+
