  1. I have an SXT with the 2.7 V6, just a touch over 10,000km on the clock, brakes are embarrassingly loud as the squeak when they're warm, I also noticed today, the lip created around the edge of the front disc is huge, about the same as my Commodore (think G8 Pontiac) with 65,000km, I doubt the Journeys brakes will last 20,000km, pretty poor considering there's no way any aftermarket store will stock any parts for them due to rarity, plenty of Nitros though. (I've seen 3 journeys in 3 months, and I drive for a living).
  2. I agree it shouldn't be too hard, but perhaps the wiring loom for the microphone (for example) wouldn't be long enough when run to the RH A pillar instead of the LH pillar, let's face it, regardless of what country we're in, Dealership mechanics/service techs whatever they like to be called don't like to do anything out of the ordinary. The prime example was on my old Nissan, it broke an intercooler mounting tab, the dealer wanted $1200 to replace the intercooler, when I suggested they take it off and give it to the aluminum fabricator next door to their workshop, they were stunned (It ended up being a $35 repair). I'm going to present the part number to the dealer and inquire as to why they didn't suggest it as an option, an unsatisfactory answer means I'll forever take my vehicle elsewhere for servicing.
  3. Thanks Sam, and I agree about the dealer. although, having just looked at the PDF, perhaps the wiring won't work with a RHD vehicle.
  4. I have a Journey SXT with the standard stereo, It clearly has 2 buttons for telephone usage, pressing them flashes up a "uconnect not fitted", and I'm quite sure I read somewhere on the web about there being a uconnect upgrade/module that can be fitted to have bluetooth phone connectivity. I asked my Aussie Dodge dealer, only to be told I need to spend $4500 and get a mygig setup to have integrated bluetooth or they can fit a tacky looking aftermarket parrot system. Is there a "uconnect" module that can be fitted and still keep my "normal" stereo ? a pic pinched off the web of the head unit in question. Thanks Eddie

    Aussie Journey

Hi all, my wife and I recently purchased a Dodge Journey, a 2.7lt 6spd auto, SXT. From what I've read online, it seems we got the downsized engine, as the U.S. market got the 3.5lt (could have used that to tow with on our recent driving holiday). Pretty happy with it so far, few things they could've done better, but being in Australia, it's the most unique looking 7 seater on the market. Here's a pic of it next to the "B Double" trucks we have. rgds Eddie
  6. Hi all, Recently bought a Journey, I've only seen 2 others on the road here so far (Melbourne, Australia). Looking at the headlights, I'm tipping Mr Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge dealer will charge me a fortune if I break one, so I'm wondering if anyone makes headlight covers to suit the Journey? My googling hasn't found any locally, and the closest I've seen overseas are adhesive ones, are "perspex" style ones available? thanks and regards Eddie 2.7lt SXT Journey
  7. I was umming and ahhing about getting these, after seeing them fitted, I'll order a set.
