  1. My Journey is a little more than a year old and has little less than 17,000 km (10,000 miles). Does anybody have any of these 2 problems ? Problem 1 My wife noticed a burned plastic smell today while she got out of the front passenger seat. The smell was heavy but I could not see what it was. When we came back 20 minutes later, the smell was gone, but has we got home, it was back, but more subtle. We can only smell it from the outside of the vehicle, it smells nothing inside (hopefully!). Problem 2 Since 3 or 4 months, there is a strange noise coming from the roof, right between the roof console and roof (I think). Just like if something, a plastic piece, was loose and bumping around like crazy each time I drive over 100 km/h (60 miles/h). And, like many people here, I have that squiky noise coming up front the driver's seat. Must be the suspension. It only happens while driving slowly, in residential streets (like 30-50 km/h (18-30 miles/h)). I'll have the dealer looking at these next week with my oil change. I'll keep up then.
  2. That is exactly why I chose the 2.4 L : Gas price. It was $1,50/L a year ago! Since then it drops to $1,00/L. I would have love all the extra options the SXT brings (mostly the folding passenger seat!), but I didn't want the 3.5 L. The 2.7 L would have been a great choice, I think, but it's not available in Canada. The 2.4 L is great with the SE+ (Canada-only config in America), but you must not need to haul anything big 'cause 1000 lbs is pretty small or live in a mountain area because it works hard in hill climbing.
  3. So true !!! This is my biggest concern. They did a recall for the left turn noise problem, I hope this one will be next.
  4. I had the same problem and frustration, until I find out that you can pull off the headrest! I now have removed the one where my son is sitting, since it doesn't need it.
