  1. Well been quite awhile now. My wife has had the Journey for just over 3 years now. It has been trouble free but today the CEL came back on. It has 37,800 km now. Codes were P2017 and P1004. Will take it in tomorrow to the dealer. Fortunately it is under warranty till 5 years or 100k km. Will post when I know the issue.
  2. I'd be very surprised if an SRT Journey actually happens. I personally think this vehicle has been fitted with a Pentastar V6 and is being used a test mule. The new Pentastar V6 is due to show up in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee next year and will follow in other Chrysler products after that. The Journey will likely get this engine eventually to replace the 3.5L V6.
  3. We went with the 5 seater version. More room for cargo (flip up storage compartment is nice and our RT has the privacy cover), and probably not going to have more than 2 kids anyways. The 3rd row seat is really only suitable for infants due to the lack of leg room. $1000 cheaper didn't hurt either.
  4. Got the vehicle back Monday. I just haven't had time to post back. Anyways, the part replaced was the control valve body on the transmission. So far 2 days to work and back and all is well. Hopefully it'll stay that way. I'll post back if anything else comes up but for now it seems to be fixed.
  5. Well, wife got a call today from the dealer. Seems they think it is a defective sensor of some sort. She didn't know what it was called, so i'll find out when we pick it up. Bad news is it'll be a week to get the part. Chrysler must not be keeping many spare parts on hand due to their financial shape. Sure hope this takes care of the issue. Really like the Journey but definitely not how I wanted to start out our ownership experience. Previously she had a 2005 Dodge Neon and it had it's fair share of problems. I want to believe this one will be better over the long term.
  6. Journey got towed to the dealership today. Got a loaner vehicle. Will let you know tomorrow when I get in touch with them if they found the issue and what it turns out to be. The gas mileage has been worse than what others have posted here, probably due to this transmission shift issue. Been getting about 15mpg city, about 20 on the highway. Vehicle has about about 1100km, a bit over 600 miles on it.
  7. Well the check engine light just came on again today. The transmission appears to be stuck in 1st gear now. Will be taking it in tomorrow. Probably going to need a loaner. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of what is going on and get this fixed. Vehicle has been fine otherwise. I will post back once I find out exactly what the cause turns out to be.
  8. Took it back to the dealer today. Everything seems to be back to operating normally now. They reset the check engine light. The error code pointed to the overdrive on the transmission. We'll see if this issue comes back. Other than this issue, really love the Journey so far.
  9. Just got our new 2010 Dodge Journey R/T about 4 days ago. Now at 146 km the check engine light has come on. I will post once I find out the cause. It was hesitating to shift into 3rd gear right before the light came on. The engine would rev up past 3000rpm before shifting. I suspect there might be a faulty sensor. Otherwise, really like the vehicle so far!
  10. Well, finalized the deal and pick up the Journey RT Wednesday. It's Deep Water Blue Pearl, grey leather. No options other than the Bluetooth/Ipod/Dimmer rear view mirror package. Can't wait to drive it!
  11. The RT was built Aug 25th and scheduled to arrive Sept 15th. We'll see what the dealer is willing to do for us when it shows up.
  12. Well some bad news. Today got a call from the dealer. No more 2009's (at least AWD) being built. For 2010 they are not offering the SXT trim with AWD. You have to move up to an RT to get AWD. Currently the salesman is checking with his boss to see what they can do for us. (We ordered 2 weeks ago and put down a $250 deposit). I really hope Chrysler can do something to make this right. The difference is about $2500 MSRP more for an RT. Wife didn't really want leather and it's quite a bit extra money. If they can't compensate somehow we may end up cancelling our order.
  13. My wife and I put in an order for a 2009 Dodge Journey yesterday. We decided on a Deep Water Blue Pearl SXT AWD with convenience group 1 and satellite radio. Current estimated delivery is mid August. (Located in Canada) It's unclear if we will get a 2009 or a 2010 at the same price. The dealer had 4 SE Journeys on the lot a week ago and had sold them all when we came in. She's upgrading from a 2005 Dodge Neon so it'll be quite a change.
