  1. Thanks bigtsr. Looks like I need to sharpen up my search skills.
  2. I wasn't even sure where to post this, but recently I've noticed what sounds like water swishing around in a bottle over my left shoulder when I drive my DJ. I did a bit of further exploration today and it seems like there's water trapped in the left rear passenger door - has anyone ever encountered this before?
  3. Thanks Journeyman - I might PM you at some point if that's ok? I'm going to have my dealership install the remote start in the next couple of months but they are generally terrible with adding codes so if I can preload some that might save some pain down the road when I add a hitch etc.
  4. Journeyman - quick question. Is it possible to have a code added and flashed before you install the actual item? For example, if you added AHC to a VIN and then had a dealer install a remote start system requiring a flash, would you be good to go when you install the hitch at a later date or would it sill require another trip to the dealer?
  5. The other thing to consider is whether you can use that cash to generate a better return than your financing cost. In these markets you should be able to generate significantly more than 2-3% by investing your money wisely. When you're dealing with a depreciating asset (i.e. a car) things can seem a little more complicated, but generally when someone is willing to lend you money at a crazy low rate you really should consider it long and hard vs losing the time value of cash - of course you always want to make your payments on time etc etc.
  6. I'm in a bind - the reason I want auto headlights is that I'm lazy, but then my laziness prevents me from going through the effort to install them ....
  7. Oh, that sucks. I guess I'll shelve this plan for now then.
  8. Sean, this is interesting - I didn't realize it was so simple. My dealership told me it would be impossible to add automatic headlights to my 2012 Journey, but from what you describe the technical piece isn't that difficult provided you can get the code listed to your build sheet.
  9. Wow! Those lights look amazing - if you don't mind me asking, how much did they set you back?
  10. I can't endorse the quality of this one way or the other, but there was an aftermarket option discussed in this thread http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/3419-possible-43-to-84-upgrade/

    +25mm offset?

Thanks everyone. It's crazy how little some tire shops seem to know/care. I had a guy look at me like I was crazy for even considering putting anything on the car less than +40mm offset! DTSGUY - We thought about going larger to 19 or more, but when we started factoring in the cost of new tires etc the numbers became eye-watering. We have found a nice set of 18 x 8.5 though that we're seriously considering. They're +30mm offset so I think will work nicely.

    +25mm offset?

    Thanks will take a look
  13. We're looking to put some new wheels on our 2012 SXT and after much searching we've realized how limited the selection is. We finally found a set of 17x8, 5x127 rims but the offset is +25mm which will push the wheels out by 10mm - is this too much? I measured and optically i think it will be ok, but I'm just wondering about the impact on bearings, suspension etc.
  14. Deleted - duplicate post
  15. Great, thanks so much Journeyman! That's weird that the code is already there as two dealers now have said they can't help me - one of them even took the car for a quick spin around the lot! I have a service scheduled next month so hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it. Thanks again
  16. Cool, thanks for the heads up - this is obviously one of those "nice to have" but in no way urgent type of things.
  17. Wow Journeyman this is awesome what you're doing - I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get my DRLs activated having now been to two different dealerships before stumbling across this thread. Maybe it's not possible for my 2012, but anything you can do would be much appreciated - the last 8 of my VIN are CT143092 and the car has 36k miles on it. Thanks!
