  1. Ok heres my prob, and Im hoping to get some feed back before I start tearing into my 09 DJ rear right seats. I moved the rear right seats forward and now they wont go back when I lift the handle to slide them backwards, no I do not have 3rd row, the cable in the lever mech. is all there nothing is broke. Im just trying to get some help to see if anyone ever had this problem and what they did to fix it. Thanks
  2. K&N filters do let more air into the engine, fyi they are made with cheese cloth not paper, I have used them in all of my cars, and race cars, just not the journey as of yet, because I don't know if I am going to build my own air induction system.
  3. Where did you get your K&N air Filter, not really wanting to spend ovrr $60 for mine, I mean I can make my own full cold air intake with water deffuser, not short ram, but I did get rid of my resonator and changed my oil to castrol 5w20 with MOA addative, just with that done my 09 dj (3.5Ltr) has been getting and avg of 21.7 it used to be an avg of 16.9 on fill up..... thanks in advance
  4. Ok this is the first time I've seen this thread, but as I've been reading everything, two things come to mind, 1 dodge must hire dumb asses that know nothing about, or how a vehicle works. 2 How many of y'all have a DJ with the garbage 19" chrome clad wheels. Reason I'm asking is because I have an 09' with the 19" CC wheels, and I have found out recently that the wheels are notorious for trapping road grime and brake dust between the chrome cover and the alloy, causing the vibration/shimmy. The engine problems y'all are having is due to bad oil from the dealership and bad service practices from dodge, I'm an auto tech and my dad is an auto engineer and this is what we have come up with. I'm going to buy some after market wheels and tires, then I'm going to deweld the covers and take pics and write a documented report to send to the Chrysler corporation to see if they can start on a TSB or full recall...... Oh FYI when you get a rotation make sure you tell your service writer that front to rear no Cris cross rotation, because a Cris cross rotation cause bad tread wear and tread seperation. Hopes this helps everyone.
  5. sounds like mine needs the same thing done, because mine stated to do that tonight as well, and my wifes wont work and neither will the back two, but once the lights on the DMS come back on they can use it for like a split sec and then I have to open and slam the piss outta the door to make it work again, sad thing is I am having to drive almost 5hrs to get a lot of the work done to my DJ in a few hours because they are one of the best DD's in Texas, and when my shop here in OK sends me there I know something is up, and yes there was a TSB on the DMS wiring assembly it was for 09-11
  6. cry cry cry, so what if you have a DVD playing while driving, I know for a fact that 97% of ALL drivers mess with the radio while driving, and if you have SXM I know a lot of people spend about 10mins going trough their presets or going though all the stations, and just because the controls are on the wheel don't mean jack, great read though, did it by accident back in nov after I picked my 09 DJ up, had Monsters U going for the kids and was going to look at something in the settings and said screw it took off and backed out and was like wow the vid is still going, but as soon as I stopped it went back to normal, you should do it on long drives works great when we would do it driving 4-5hrs to Dallas..... but now I guess I need to take my player apart and fix it since it doenst work anymore just the radio and media
  7. hell that's pretty sick, less than 20 bucks for a dvr, now im deffinly getting one, esspesialy for the jack wads that drive where I live..... hell might get 2 of them and mount one in the back that way if some idiot rams me from the rear they will be on vid, and will make a claim a hell of a lot faster, just email the vid to insurance and done son hahahahaha
  8. I know the noise you are talking about..... My 09 started to do that after a lot of driving last weekend, took it to the shop and my tech told me it was pressure blow back from the P/S pump, also said its cause the wheels&tires I have are heavy as hell for the P/S pump, totally normal. He did say if it starts to do it when you are doing a normal left or right turn to bring it back. Hope this helps.....
  9. :headscratch:Ok, so I see I'm not the only one have the stupid shimmy problem...... makes me want to drive my DJ in a lake a leave the stupid thing there....... but never the less, I am going to let you know it isn't a tire issue, its a wheel & tire issue.... what I have come to conclusion to, is this....... The fake chrome, well the Chrome Clad 19' wheel is a piece of junk wheel, and the 225/55x19 is a very heavy tire... Now I have contacted about 15 different Dodge shops, and here is pretty much what Ive been told by almost all of them..... Its a really bad wheel design because dirt, road grim, and brake dust can build up in side between the alloy and chrome cover over time..... best thing to do to get rid of it, get rid of them, Ive had 5 alignments done, lost count of balances ive had, I know its more than 20 or so, and about $10K worth of suspension work front to back done. Yeah Im tired of it so im going to be looking for some wheels.....oh oh oh and if your shop doesn't have the special wheel balance adapter it wont be worth it at all to get new tires because the vibration will wear a tire down faster than you would even want to imagine.... but yeah Im going to be looking at new aftermarket wheels, wish I could but some 17" Pro comp wagon wheels on my DJ but there isn't enough back spacing for it Hell who knows I might just go all Frankenstien with my DJ and cut the flares off and cut all the plastic out and jeep flare it and put the jeep wrangler front brakes on there and put some fattys on there hhahahahahaha..... Im an automotive engineer so who knows I might do it...... hope this helps
