  1. Thread necro, but wanted to give a +1 to the fuse trick. There was some sort of two week free trial (that just activated, we did not request this) and this issue just arose on my wife's 2013 DJ. Said she was just driving down the road and bam went to this acquiring signal BS. Any buttons you push quickly revert back to this Acquiring signal screen. I called sirius and they said the only way to send an activation signal was to resubscribe. I was like, what. You've pretty much taken over this interface because it was tuned to XM when the service ended. On a side note the fuse box is damn near impossible for your average sized 'Merican to get at. I must have looked like a fool laying on my back with my foot stuck up on the door to get my head under the glovebox to see the dumb fusebox. Overall this DJ has been a reasonable vehicle but this issue really sours me on UConnect and Dodge. Getting locked out of functionality of MY vehicle because some free trial I never signed up for ended is borderline criminal in my book.
  2. After much trepidation I am the owner of a 2013 V6 Journey SXT AWD. My wife and I thought long and hard about what to get for our soon to be family of four. We wanted 7 passenger seating as somehow our 4 year old son already has friends we are hauling to and fro and with a second child on the way our Focus would no longer be able to meet our needs. We looked long and hard at vehicles like the Crosstrek, Flex, Outlander, Journey, etc... To be honest I was pretty sold on an Outlander but we are in semi rural Iowa and the closest Mitsubishi dealer is over 60 miles away. This gave me some hesitation which my usual mechanic confirmed as far as repair should the need arise. After somewhat setting the Outlander aside the Journey really did grow on me, especially the storage options, and when a 2013 in the color, trim, and powertrain we had been considering in a new Journey showed up at the local dealer and took a test drive on Saturday, we bit the bullet, signed the papers, and picked it up yesterday. I had heard some horror stories about the Journey but those seemed mostly focused on pre 2011 models. Here's hoping to a long and fruitful partnership between me and ol Coppertone.
