  1. Just bought a 2014 Journey. It has the 8.4" non nav unit. Looking at adding the Lockpick C8 but want to make sure this Uconnet unit is compatible. I have the Journey at the dealer right now (they are adding tint and detailing as part of delivery) but when I asked about the adding a backup camera to the unit they said they would have to check the model number of the radio but based on previous installs it was going to be close to $1K to add the camera, if possible. 2. I don't have anything against OEM but figured if 2013 and 2014 were one in the same in body dimensions, why not save some coin and go aftermarket without the markup.
  3. Hello from Texas! Bought my wife a 2014 Dodge Journey SXT last night. She loved her 2005 Ford Freestyle crossover so the Journey was a logical choice. Room of a mid-size SUV without the "truck" feel. We got the Pearl white, tan leather, 8.4" radio and 3rd row. There were a few features that we would have liked but got a good deal on it so we are happy. Not sure if this forum is just to say hello or ask questions also, but I would like to ask a couple of things. Q1: We have a hadicapped daughter that really benefited from nerf/running boards on my F-150 and the Freestyle as assist her in getting in and out of the vehicle. 1) I am looking at aftermarket parts and see several options for nerf bars. QUESTION: Are the 2013 and 2014 DJ's the same body/frame? Can I happily buy nerf bars made for the 2013 DJ and have them fit on the 2014? I didn't notice any huge differences in the 2013s and 2014s on the lot. Q2: One of the features that we liked but wasn't a deal breaker was the back up camera. With the 8.4" Uconnect (non-nav) can you add the factory backup camera? Costs? Hope to learn a ton about our new DJ from here.
