  1. The actual numbers readout for PSI on the tires is only on the R/T with the EVIC. The SXT we get idiot lights if the tires get low.
  2. Ours are equipped identically except ours is Black The rear headrests don't bug me yet I just recline the rear seats a bit to free up the view.
  3. Welcome aboard! Yes the DJ is a pretty smooth runner and quite. It is a bit choppy over rough roads with the Performance Steering/suspension but super smooth on the highway My dad has an Inferno Red CP 2000 Dodge Caravan so I had to get black
  4. I was pleasantly surprised on the insurance cost. It isn't the cheapest but not too bad. We have pretty good coverage and it is about ~$392 per 6 months thru State Farm. That's in Chicago proper with a 2nd car discount and good driving records. Might be hard for you to relate if you don't live in Chicago but that is a decent rate.
  5. We're actually with Harris Bank as they were lower then Chrysler Financial. Not sure if there are rate differences between the States and Canada. Our extended plan pushes to 7/100 and was less than $2k but not much less think ~$1900. We plan on keeping the Journey 10+ years if she lasts that long so I figured the extended plan is probably not a bad idea, it will at least cover us to 100k miles and the really big stuff is still covered under the Lifetime Powertrain.
  6. Yeah chrome door handles and roof rack side rails are on the R/T. We've got a Black SXT and I like everything black! Even the lower rocker panel that's black fits in. R/Ts are body colored but with a Black SXT it is close to body color The leather R/T seats got blasted in Car and Driver, I didn't think they were THAT hard when I sat in an R/T and I actually like how firm the cloth seats are in the SXT.
  7. We were in the same boat as far as not wanting to order and wait. I accepted a new job which meant we'd need two cars and I knew it would take 2 months or maybe more to get everything exactly how we wanted. Safe and Sound was the option we left off as well. She looks good in the Bright Silver. We wanted black or maybe Silver Steel. I love the Brilliant Black Pearl. I was going to ask if that was a Charger SRT8... I'd love to have one of those next! I guess you don't want to have to keep too black cars clean!
  8. You'd have to test drive one. Me and my wife really thought we'd be getting a Patriot but even loaded with options it is what it is, namely a $15,000 vehicle with some gizmos. We test drove a Journey the same day as the Patriot this was a few weeks ago. Of course I didn't test drive a 4 banger Journey but in the Patriot with the CVT it was loud and buzzy. We found the Journey to be so much more vehicle for the money. I'd advise you to either get a stripped down Patriot to save money on initial cost plus gas mileage or get the SXT Journey which is a great value. I just couldn't see getting a Limited Patriot when the SXT Journey wasn't too far off in price and was 5x the car.
  9. It's odd I live in Chicago and at my nearest dealer I drove an SXT quite a few weeks ago, one of the first ones they had in. I went out to a suburb to find the black SXT equipped the way we wanted. The dealers say they are selling them as they get them in but I haven't seen another one out on the street yet and I am a car guy I'd notice one
  10. Sweet, I haven't seen a Sandstone one in the flesh yet. I think they had one at the Chicago Autoshow... I know they had black, red and silver. Our black SXT is at like 150 miles since Saturday's purchase Went shopping twice in that time and we both agreed to park way far away to prevent a ding... too early for a ding!
  11. Thanks for checking it out, I knew I was being paranoid. Wife picked me up in the new Journey after work and I noticed quite a few cabbies craning their necks to check out the Journey. Even a car snobby guy at my wife's work saw it in the lot and said it was beautiful. I just got my June Car and Driver and they blasted the R/Ts leather seats as being rock hard I guess I don't feel bad having the cloth I've always liked cloth and the Yes Essential fabric seems great. The article listed the rear brakes at 12.0 inches vs. 11.9 in the front... sort of odd but I thought there were at least equal in size normally you put the bigger ones on the front. They did test an R/T AWD I don't think the brakes are different.
  12. I was taking a look at my Journey today and noticed the upper edge of the windshield looks like it needs a piece of trim. What it looks like is the glass edge is just there with no rubber trim piece on top. Is this the design? Maybe something funky they did to reduce wind noise? Can someone take a look and the top edge of their windshield for me? I swear it looks like there's a groove or channel between the top of the glass and the where the roof starts.
  13. The special Charger color you're thinking of is B5 Blue or "Petty blue" they painted one Challenger that color too and auctioned it off. As far as Surf Blue Pearl I know it comes on a few mopars like the Caliber.
  14. There aren't too many cars that me and my wife agree on. We don't have kids yet but they'll be on the way in a year or two. She hates minivans and my parents are on their 3rd Mopar mini (1985, 1991 and 2000). I like the Magnum and think it is functional and she hates it. She hates almost anything with a hatchback but like SUVs. She likes the EDGE and the big blue oval on the back nearly makes me barf. We both like the idea of the Patriot but it is tiny (I'm 6 foot 7) and very buzzy. In the end the Patriot is a $15,000 car even if you gussy it up with leather and Nav. The Journey is lots of car for the money and has great minivan like features without looking as dorky. I knew the Journey was coming out for months being somewhat of a Mopar freak (love the LX cars, Challenger etc.) I'm always monitoring Allpar etc. My last black car was a 1996 Impala SS glad that both me and the wife like black I'm very glad Dodge decided to axe the 2.7 in the SXT it makes the SXT such a great buy. I bet in real world mileage an SXT with a 2.7 and 4-speed wouldn't get much better mileage than a 6-speed 3.5 anyway. I understand outside of NA markets they offer the 2.7 with the 6-speed AMT. I really think a midcycle refresh of the Journey to add the upcoming Phoenix engines and the automated manual tranny will take it to a whole new level in a couple years.
  15. I usually tend to not go with an extended warranty but we got the 7 years/100,000 miles extending the bumper to bumper from 3/36,000. I told them I didn't really want it a couple times then he told me he could lower my interest rate nearly a half point which when you ran the numbers the difference was only $12 a month so I said what the heck let's cover it for the full 100,000 miles. What are some of the financing rates you guys got? We ended up with 4.9%
  16. Hey guys, Just picked up a black SXT with Convenience Group 1, Premium Convenience Group, Exterior Appearance Package and Sunroof. We nearly went for an R/T but I can do without the leather, EVIC and chrome door handles/roof bars. It had 8 miles on the clock and 11 after my test drive Me and my wife test drove one of the first SXTs to land in the Chicagoland area a couple months ago and enjoyed the ride. The only option that we didn't get but wanted was the Safe and Sound Group but we didn't really want to wait for an order. Very hard to find SXTs with both Convenience Groups plus Safe and Sound. So far me and the wife are really enjoying the ride. We test drove a Patriot hoping we'd like it but you get so much more car in a Journey.
