  1. Ahhhhh, ok that makes sense! Thanks so much for the explanation! If I decide to go with the 2013 for $15,000 then the extra cost for nav/cam might be worth it. But, I will be sure to ask the dealer about the built-in GPS antenna. That's great that you did everything yourself! I'm def going to need installation as I'll have no clue how to do that and Hubby wouldn't either lol
  2. Mcgusto82- Great memory and thanks for offering up that information!! I would assume, then, that if I went with the SE Plus there's no way to modify that (like with lockpic or anything simliar) to upgrade that feature correct? I truly want to be as "cost effective" aka cheap as possible with this vehicle but my last vehicle was fully loaded...it's hard to give that stuff up when you're used to it Thanks for your help!!
  3. Thanks so much for your help Rolly! I'm in love with the Journeys but cannot seem to make up my mind if I want to go the least expensive way with the SE Plus at $15,000 or brand new SXT at $22,000 so this info really helps me a lot!
  4. BramFrank- Quick question if you don't mind. What is the difference between the CVP and SE Plus? I was told by one dealer that the CVP is the SE Plus?? Now, I'm confused!
  5. This deal is at Oakville Chrysler in Ontario in case anyone is interested. Thanks for the heads up, as well on the bait & switch!
  6. Thanks so much for your help dodgeFan72! May I ask one more question, please? The current incentive online at dodge.ca states "receive $5625 in total discounts".......this is for the Journey Ultimate Package (seen here http://www.dodgeoffers.ca/special-offers/ontario/en/dodge/Journey/ultimate ) Dumb question, but does that mean they would discount that amount off msrp and then take off another 1% off that remaining amount? This is pre-tax correct? How do I know which Journey models qualify in this program? Any help is appreciated!
  7. Hi Everyone, So, I have a chrysler control number. I am curious to know if anyone might have feedback to the following questions, please: 1) Is the control # a certain "set" dollar amount or does it differ from dealer to dealer? 2) Can you still get all the rebates/incentives offered and then get your control # discount on top of that? One dealer told me this was not possible but I'd just like to verify. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
  8. I'd like to add on to what crappydodgejourney has said about Dixie Chrysler in Brampton. I've been dealing with a couple different dealers on their used inventory and have had many questions. Jeff at Dixie Chrysler has been the most helpful and is very quick to reply. He's informative, goes OUT OF HIS WAY to get you the right answers and is honest and upfront. Also, they seem to have the best pricing within Ontario as far as dealer installed options. Overall, a great experience in dealing with him and he's a great representative of Dixie Chrysler. After reading how well they treated craapydodgejourney through his horrendous ordeal.....I'd venture to say that is a reputable dealership.
  9. Thank you both for your feedback. The same things you had pointed out is what is causing me confusion I have the budget to go brand new but I see that $400 plus payment and my stomach turns. I do have a Chrysler control # (friends & family discount) so that might help. Would either of you know if that discount is a "standard amount off" or will it vary from dealer to dealer? Also, is this discount taken into consideration on top of any cash allowance discounts from the manufacturer? Thanks for your help & taking the time to respond!
  10. Am I the only one shocked to read this? I found a dealer selling 2013 Journey SE Plus' for $15k! Seeing this number......it almost makes it impossible not to buy it. Just thought I'd let others know in case they were looking, as well! This is in Canada just FYI. I'm not sure if that's a good price according to US standards.
  11. Hi Everyone, Can someone please tell me the main differences between the SXT and Crew models? I'm seeing a lot of them visually look the same as far as the interior is concerned, anyway. Appreciate the help!
  12. Hi Everyone, I'm full of questions today So, my former vehicle (Passat 4motion) was AWD. I'm used to the AWD, I absolutely love how it handles! In not owning a Dodge vehicle before, let alone a SUV, I'm wondering if I will be satisfied with the FWD, especially during our winter months here in Canada. Has anyone else gone from an AWD to a FWD vehicle and, if so, do you have any feedback you'd be willing to share please? Thanks so very much!
  13. Thanks, Larry, for your reply! I do understand your point, and that was the chance I was willing to take as, at that point, we would have an agreed upon price (and I did state that was pending inspection). Otherwise, I had all the pictures and confirmed the options list. Which is why I would have fairly put down a deposit. I guess my issue is that I had acceptance, in writing, and then the story changed. I know it's not fair and that's "how the process goes" is what I've been hearing from others but for Dodge Canada to really not have any input and to come across as though they really didn't see anything wrong with the dealer lying to get you in their door.....that was really disheartening. You are very correct, big different in price between the US and Canada. I can stomach that so long as the service and support is there.......and that's what I find negative about this experience with the Dodge brand as through their dealers. Anyway, thank you very much for offering your feedback and entertaining my "rant" for a bit. Have you had any pleasant experiences with any dealers out your way?
  14. Wondering what the installation costs might range on the above-noted unit. Does anyone have any idea? Thank you in advance for any help!
  15. Hi Everyone, Wondering if I might be able to get some feedback from those who have gone through this process? Is it worth it for someone like me who does not work on cars to buy a vehicle with the nav/rear cam option factory installed or to purchase aftermarket and pay someone to install for me? I'm not familiar with the costs involved going the AM route. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

  17. Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie here. I am looking to purchase my first vehicle here in Canada (originally from the US). It's been many years since I've purchased a vehicle and, being new to the "Canadian way" wanted to get your feedback on how I was treated by this dealership please. I've never owned a Dodge before and Hubby has had 6 new Rams in the last 10 yrs. His experience has been great, so I thought I'd look into the purchase of a Journey. Where I live, pricing is so much better in the bigger towns, which is about 2 hrs away from me. I've been doing my shopping online and negotiating with the dealers before I drive 2 hrs to visually inspect the vehicle. So, I have in writing, and email between myself and a Dodge dealer, where I stated "I am comfortable offering x amount of money, pending authorization upon my visual inspection." The dealership wrote back "OK, great! When can you come in!" So, before I leave I send another email to confirm that we still agree on offer, pending inspection so I don't have to drive 2 hrs only to get a different story. Dealership responds and writes "please call me so I explain to you how this process works". I gave the dealer a chance to explain the process via email and this is what they wrote back (word for word) "I need a commitment to purchase before I can take an offer to my manager. You can do that in person like you said or you can do that over email." Now, I reiterated that I was serious and would put down a deposit, etc so they had my commitment to my offer, pending inspection. Dealer wrote back and stated that they could not accept my offer! Now, I'm left feeling incredibly angry (to put it nicely) as it now appears that this dealer was just saying anything to get me to drive 2 hrs with no intent to even accept my offer, even after stating "OK". This is my first experience with Dodge and it's not giving me a good feeling. I called Dodge Canada customer care team and they really did not care. In fact, the rep stated to me "let me explain how this process works". So, is this what they are trying to tell me: That they encourage and find it acceptable for their dealer to say whatever it takes and however untrue to just to get their customers in the dealer's doors? How is this fair and how am I supposed to trust their dealers now? I am just so upset with their disregard and lack of professionalism and support from Dodge Canada. Has anyone else gone through similar experience? I appreciate any feedback and allowing me the chance to vent! Thank you!
  18. Hello All! So happy to have found this forum! Wondering if anyone can offer any advice as a result of their experience with the Journey. I have never owned a Dodge vehicle before. Hubby has owned about 6 Rams within last 10 years and is very satisfied with the Dodge brand. Currently, my budget allows for me to either buy used so that I can afford all the options or buy brand new with less options and "add on" options as time/funds allow. Currently, I am looking at a couple different ways to possibly go and am looking for any feedback anyone has to offer. Here are the possible purchases: (In case it is important, I am in Canada) 1. Brand new 2013 SXT AWD for $21,300. I would research possibilities/cost of adding on 8.4 screen with nav/backup camera and sunroof aftermarket if that is an option? 2. Used 2011 SXT, 39,000km, with upgraded rims and remote start at $16,900. Again, I would want to add on 8.4 screen with nav/backup camera, sunroof. 3. Used 2011 RT, 42,000km, with all options except sunroof at $21,900. I would look into getting aftermarket sunroof put in. Can anyone offer their feedback as far as whether or not it's a good idea to purchase options/accessories aftermarket? And, would anyone have any good referrals as far as suppliers/providers of these services within Canada (Ontario specifically)? I would naturally like to keep monthly payments down as much as possible and am leaning towards the $16,900 SXT but am unfamiliar with the costs associated with adding on aftermarket 8.4 screen;/sunroof...thinking it might be easier or more cost effective just to pay more in purchase price for model that has the options I'm looking for? I appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!
