  1. I'm pretty impressed with the mileage I've been getting. From southwest Minnesota to the north shore I got 27 mpg according to the evic. Drove around the big hills in Duluth for 3 days before filling up and was down to 25 mpg on the evic for that tank. Ran the numbers by hand and was pretty close. I reset the evic before we embarked on our journey, and was amazed that my mileage kept getting better the faster we went, haha. By the time I was north of the twin cities, I had the cruise set at 76mph and the instant mileage was consistently over 30. Keep in mind this is with my family of 4, and luggage for a week.
  2. Not a truck. But it sounds funny calling it a car, ha. I catch heck from my co-workers who don't have kids yet who call it a van.
  3. I bought a CPO 2012 Journey SXT FWD a few weeks ago, with 32000 miles. I couldn't twist the dealer's arm any further, but did talk them out of a voucher for a new set of tires, as the originals are 75% used up, and a bit weather checked even. They quoted me a set of Bridgestone "ecopia" low rolling resistance tires for $520, but I think I'll put my voucher towards something else, as that particular tires is more of a "summer" tire. I would like to get a 4 season tire, (don't start on getting dedicated winter tires, I walk/bike to work, and if the weather is icy/snowy, we stay home. If the zombie apocalypse were to occur in the dead of winter and I NEEDED to go somewhere on awful roads, I've got my trusty jeep) My thoughts on the kumhos are that they're a bit noisy on the interstate, and leave something to be desired for grip in the dry or wet, but that could have something to do with having pentastar power going through only the front wheels, (last car was an 05 Dodge Magnum, SXT AWD) Our Journey is used for going to church on sundays, weekend trips, and once or twice a year vacations. So what has everyone been using for replacements? Cost is NOT an issue, even if they weren't pretty well paid for already, tires are the only 4 points that connect to the road, why skimp?
  4. My wife washed key for our Magnum a couple years ago. She felt awful because we also had to have the vehicle towed, on a flat bed, but stuff happens. It was my fault for leaving the key in my pockets. I had said from the day we bought that car that I needed to get a second set of keys made for it, and never did. 350 dollars later, we had a new transponder key, a valet key, and we're pretty careful with our keys now.
