  1. Has anyone had problems with SCREECHING brakes. Two weeks after I bought my Journey in December, 2011, a horrible screeching started coming from the front brakes!! I have returned the vehicle to the Dealer on a number of occasions, and they have been completely useless. At first they tried to tell me it was hoar frost forming on my brake pads (I live in BC, and the vehicle is garaged every night!!!) Then they replaced the brake pads which helped for 12 hours. Finally, they told me that there was nothing else they could do: I WOULD JUST HALF TO PUT UP WITH IT!!!! The brakes screech so loudly, that it is downright embarrassing. They were filming a TV show near where I live, and I had to stop where they were filming. The screech was so loud, it ruined the scene, and they had to do it over again. I could have crawled under the seat!! But it is not JUST when I start out. Last Fall I crossed the border, and to save gas, I would turn off the car until the line moved. EVERY TIME I started up the car again (a wait of maybe 30 seconds to a minute) the brakes started screeching again. It has reached the point where I apologize for the noise when I come to the border, or to a parking attendant to pay for parking. You should hear it there, where it echoes off the walls!!!! I have written to Chrysler Canada, the dealer, Richmond Chrysler/Dodge, have been of NO USE WHATSOEVER.. Can anyone tell me if they have had the same problem and fixed it, or if they have a suggestion as to what to do?? I like the vehicle, but this has ruined all enjoyment for me, and I am sure will affect the trade in or sale value of this SUV. Would YOU want a vehicle that sounds like that?? I sure don't. I TRUSTED the dealer to treat me fairly and deal with this, and they have let me down!!
