  1. I joined this forum a few years ago when I purchased a 2010 Journey SXT AWD in Deep Water Blue. It was a beautiful vehicle, I NEVER had a problem with it mile after mile. I planned on keeping it forever, however life had a different plan for me. In May of 2013 a family member suddenly died leaving us in a huge bind. It was either keep the Dodge Journey or keep our home. I unfortunately fell 4 months behind, fearing repossession I took the Journey to the credit union and handed them the keys. The credit union even commented on how beautiful the Journey was and thanked me for taking it to them in pristine condition. I had to file bankruptcy a week later.

I have moved on and rebuilt myself, I made the mistake of purchasing a 2009 Toyota Sienna in place of another Journey. This Sienna has made me miserable, it refuses to be reliable and at 126000 miles it needs $3500 to pass PA inspection. I have decided that enough is enough and refuse to put another penny in this Sienna. I went car shopping today and found a very nice 2009 Dodge Journey R/T AWD that is black.

The dealer is giving me $4000 for my Sienna and I currently owe $6890. The Journey is priced at $13900 and has 71000 miles on it. The Journey is loaded with moonroof, MYGIG, RES, leater, heated seats, and third row seating. I'm hoping it's a good decision, I have read that the 2009's have problems. I hoping I can get the same service from it that I got from my 2010 that had more miles on it. I also got a much better interest rate then I have on the Sienna.

Is there anything I should look out for on the 2009 Journeys?

  2. So I've been driving my 2010 Journey for awhile now. I LOVE IT! I have 88000 trouble free miles on it. I'm 19 years old and my girlfriend is 18 years old, her explorer is nearing the end of usable life. I have convinced her that Dodge Journeys are the perfect vehicle for us to grow into. I took her to my preffered dealer (over 650 cars in stock.) We were looking at brand new 2013 Dodge Journeys when we walked to the used lot. In the back of the lot was a brand new 2013 Dodge Journey that was barely noticable. It was completely burned to a crisp, nothing survived not even the rims. I asked my salesman about it and he very quickly told me that they took the Journey to fill it up for a customer at the gas station. They must have left it running and the static electricity found an ignition source and the vehicle literally exploded. I will have to get a picture of it before they hall it off for junk, such a beautiful vehicle wasted.

  3. I'll start off with a back story. I have the basic radio that comes in the 2010 Journey SXT (NO UCONNECT.) I was allowing my fiance to drive the Journey so she had a reliable vehicle. We broke up and I demanded the Journey back beings that I own it and make the payments on it. When I got it back the radio didn't work at all!!!! It won't do anything at all. I figured it was the perfect opportunity to upgrade to the MyGIg system. I purchased the RBZ off of ebay for $230. Can I add uconnect and a backup camera?

  4. Hi, my name is Austin and I'm 18 years old. I just bought a beautful 2010 Clearwater Blue 2010 Dodge Journey AWD!!!!! I owned a 08 Grand Caravan that I totaled, I was able to walk away from it which has sold me on Dodge's safety. I've owned for about 4 hours now and so far I love it! I got a great deal on it $14500 and it has 75000 miles on it.
