  1. Just picked up our new journey and thought I'd share some pix. We traded up from a 2010 SXt and love the newer journey layout. We maxed out the options on our new R/T aside from the rims as we didnt like the CHROME CLAD ones and prefered the "spidery" look of the stock 19" R/T rims instead. We have 3 kids and had the booster seats our 2010 and of coarse got them in our 2013. I highly recommened them for anyone with smaller kids as the boosters are built in and eleminate the need for carrying around bulking aftermarket boosters.

    Love the BEIGE LEATHER interior

Never seen a picture online of the door trim in beige so here it is :)

I will post up some pictures of the booster seats later for anyone who is interested in how they work.

  2. I was actually trying to get them to order the darker ones and do some sort of cash/trade but they wouldnt :(... I love them and thinking back i prob should have just ponied up the extra and went with the RALLYE to get those rims... I think they would have looked kick ass with the pearl while. I have never seen any car on the road with them just the dealer stock so it would have def been something that would have stood out... Im also pricing out a painted front grille for mine also :)...

  3. bio,

Sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your 2010. I hope your dealer was able to get all your issues resolved.

Let us know how you like your '13 once you drive it a bit.

All of our issues were taken care of under warentee and was one of the main reasons why we upgraded to a new journey :).... Even the brakes were covered under our warentee as they must have had a bad run or something and sent us a letter saying they would replace our first set.

  4. Anyone know the reason why our 2010 DJ has a towing capacity of 3500 LBS with the tow prep package and our new 2013 has been downgraded to 2500 LBS. I understand that those weights are based on 1 to 2 passengers but why 1000 LBS difference ?? we tow a camper that will be now maxing out our 2013 even though its got a bigger motor(3.6) with more torque. We also run a brake controller so braking wont be an issue but did they revamp thier transmissions and thats the new weak spot ??

  5. we also have a 2010 sxt that we bought new. The only real issue that we share is the rear bumper popping out, happens all the time. The rust issues we have not experienced nor the paint cracking but we got the black paint so maybe we just dont notice it ?? I do have a few complaints about the interior though, the chrome bezel trim that goes around the shifter always seems to pop out at the corners and needs to be pushed back in once and awhile. We live in canada so im sure the salt issue is the same for me also and agree that the tires are crap !!! Also I have had it back to dealership for multiple interior warentee problems from the AC cluster lights going out to speakers that stop working(yes we have the upgraded system also). The conversation mirror also had to have the gearing replaced so it moves slower as the gears fell into my lap one day, lol... and dont get me started on the BRAKES !!! We will be getting our 2013 DJ this week and from driving one and talking to others they have improved most if not all the issues that previous years have had so we are still going to stay faithful to DJ for now as their price point cant be matched for what you get. Hopefully this new one will exceed our expectations...

  6. You do have to remove that entire panel... Pain in the butt! I just installed an overhead DVD player last week and relocated the rear AC controls to where the middle dome light was and upgraded the speakers... Had to remove the panel and make "Mods" to get a 10 inch sub to fit. But it sounds great now! Kids loved the feel on our road trip this week. I will post some pictures I took when we get back home.

are you still using the stock AMP and getting better sound quality ?? I was thinking about doing a 10inch mod but wasnt sure about the factory amp..

  7. Has the issue with the towing wireharness not being able to draw enough power to power the trailer lights been fixed in the 2013 DJ or do I need to talk to the dealship about fixing this ??? I have heard others having problems with thier trailer lights as the newer LED rear light harnesses do not draw enough power to power the trailer lights and they had to have their computer flashed to allow for more power draw, we will be picking up our new journey sometime int he next few days and was just wondering if i should be telling them about it before I pick it up...

  8. we have a 2010 and have never seen a problem like that.... but possibly if you have a bulky ring i guess its possible ??? I dont understand why it would be happening at 10 and 3 though as rings are usually only on your left hand !!! I wouldnt give up and insist that its a flaw in the leather that it is bunching like that....

  9. our 2010 is black. We are getting a 2013 this week and it is the PEARL white, to me the journey looks good in any color but I am seeing way to many of that burnt orange color lately, i love that but am getting tired of seeing it on every chrysler car/minivan now...

We were considering the Pearl White but with the options SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED wanted we had a very limited selection available. As it was we had to go to BC to find one and have it shipped to Lethbridge. I didn't think I would care for Storm Grey but after taking a closer look I found it grew on me. Today was stripping the old DJ and getting it ready for trade in. I dropped the trailer hitch and changed out the snow tires and rims and put the stock 19" chrome clad wheels back on. Now nothing left to do but wait for the new DJ.

what are your impressions on the chrome clad rims.. our new one will have them and I feel i will not like them as much as the solid aluminum ones....

  11. sounds great !!! we were going to order ours in the grey but SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED wanted the pearl color :(.. 300 dollars more but it will save me having to hear about for the next 5 years, lol.... welcome and dont forget to post up some pics when you get the new ride...

  12. I agree. It's great to have a dealership that appreciates customer loyalty. After several bad service experiences with one particular Chrysler dealership in Windsor after a history of purchasing 6 vehicles over the years, I decided to go to another dealership to order my new Journey. I'm sure the change in ownership was definately the problem. They not only lost my business but my son's as well.

*cough* WINDSOR CHRYSLER *cough*.... I have had bad experiences at a windsor dealship and will not go back because of it either... we purchased our 3rd vehicle from another dealship also *cough* PINNICLE CHRYSLER *cough* as they treated us like part of thier family and not a quick sale. As for the oil changes I always do the 5000 KM thing and usually do my first oil change at 1000 KM just to make sure the engine broke in properly before i start to tow with it.
