I own a 2011 Journey Crew. I new driver recently rear-ended me. My car sustained little damage, but it had to be repaired. It ended up in the shop for more than four weeks, as Chrysler had zero rear bumper energy absorbers. They claim there were only 13 in the country, and they couldn't track them all. Anyway, I picked the car up tonight, and after I got home, I realized that my spare tire now seems to protrude from under the bumper. I don't remember it looking that way, but maybe I somehow didn't notice. I've looked on-line, and I see some pictures of Journeys with a plastic cover over the spare tire, whereas the owners manual doesn't show a cover. Does anyone else out there have a 2011 Crew? If so, does your spare protrude down and do you have a shield/cover? I'm suspicious that they maybe replaced that housing carriage for the spare tire, and either didn't get the right part (I have a full-size spare...while it now looks like a donut would fit better.) and/or they forgot to reinstall the shield.
