I have an update, i took the car to my mechanic and he replaced the break pads and i don't have any issue. Now, I have in writing from the dealership that they have replaced ball joints but when i looked at these with my mechanic, looks like these are not replaced at all. He has given me in writing that the ball joints have not been replaced. Ball joints are rusty and there are no marks on the nuts, these are rusty as well. I am going to take it to canadian tire and have them inspect and tell me in writing if these are replaced or not. Any suggestions as to what should i do about the dealership making a false claim? They must have charged Dodge as warranty claim.

I called them and finally been told that they will replace the ball joints. I have raised the issue of other job that they did, that i shouldn't be paying for it since they diagnosed it wrong the first time. Hopefully i'll have the answer and vehicle tomorrow.

Well i took it to a different mechanic to pin point the issue, which was right ball joint. This morning i took the vehicle to the dealership and left the vehicle with them. The service guy called and told me that it isnt a ball joint, it is a some thing that goes on the pads. When i went their to pick the vehicle, i took it for a test drive and the noise was still there. I have left the vehicle with them to check it again. Basically this noise comes when i make a sharp right turn right, applying breaks or no breaks doesn't matter. don't know what they will tell tomorrow so i guess its just a waiting game at this time.

I have an issue since march 2013. I have been telling them that when i go over the bumps that i hear rusty iron kind of noise. But finally this thing has given up. I'll take it to the delaership first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks.

I have a right ball joint issue, when i turn right it makes a noise. I have showed it to my mechanic and he told me that it needs replacement. Is this coverd under bumber to bumper standard warranty.

Since my warranty is going to expire in 3 days, i just want to know if this is covered or not so that i can take the vehicle to the dealership first thing 5/12 morning.

If anyone is interested, this is the camera that was diy. spent about $200 for the rydeen mirror w/ backup camera included. it might be a little pricey but honestly look at how oem it looks and you dont have people looking through your car and noticing something they might want to steal. If anyone is interested in more info just let me kno. i am more than happy to help anyone in need. i have pictures and can write out a full description of how to wire everything.

Hi, i am interested in this mirror and would love to see how you did it? I really like the auto dimming feature of the original mirriror. Is this feature available in rydeen as well? Which model and where did you buy it?

Hi, i purchased my 2012 journey sxt without bluetooth capability but now i need one. I dont want to put in the bluetooth speakers or ear pieces. Can i put in factory module and tie with my 4.3 inch infotainment system and from where can i buy one? Will i need dealer to install it for me?

I contacted www.gm-navigation.com and they are giving camera plus hookups that will attach to my current 4.3 infotainment. This also gives me the capability to add nav in future. They are asking $700. Now i dont know if it will be DIY or will i need to pay extra to get it installed.

Yes that's the only problem with stand alone units

bigtsr, i am trying to find a unit and an inexpensive to go is just like what you did. Is it easy DIY or do i need to go to a professional? Could you please give me the model numbers for the gps and camera that you purchased?

I am thinking about going with Magellan but i think i can get this all setup cheap. Some of these cheap Chinese gps units are not that good and user friendly like tom tom or Magellan.

I have found one system at Canadian tire for $149. Its a rear view mirror that has a 3.5" section for the camera. It gets activated when you'll put the car in reverse. Don't know if i get this or a GPS with built in camera? Two in one units on ebay and amazon.

First one, does it connect to the uconnect i have right now or am i replacing the urconnect unit itself so that i can use rear view camera?

I'll go to the canadian tire and will check these out. But these will not work with when i'll put the car in reverse...

I have also seen on amazon some nav units with built in wireless rear view camera. These are two in one units. Rather than getting another screen in front for rear view camera, should i get one of these? Any recommendation here?

Hi, i didnt get the tow prep package with the vehicle... I want to install a hitch but want to do it porperly. What should i consider and what are my options? This will be just in case i need to bring home some thing from homedepot. May not even use it ever.

My SXT didnt came with factory installed rear view camera. I want to install one, what are my options? Can i get factory one that can fit in with the uconnect? I am not interested built in navigation at this time.

Hi, I was at a drive in theatre the other night... I had shut down the vehicle but radio was still on. I tried to dim the light but i couldnt. The dimmer on the left side of the stairing didnt work also when engine was shutdown. When engine is running, the auto dimmer worked just fine.

I found the place (uconnect) where i could reset the lights while engine is running or shutdown but it didnt let me do any thing. The decrease and increase buttons on the screen were not selectable. How can i make this adjustment? I switched the headlight from auto to off position during this time also.
