  1. I believe I posted the image from work so I will have to check to see if I still have it there. I'm not sure what is wrong with the image hosting on the forum
  2. Sorry guys I haven't been on here in a while. I'm not sure what the C1, C2, and C3 Pin are for? If you have the Stereo with the DVD player in it the controls are built in to the stereo just look at you manual from the dealer to learn how to use it. Since it is all built into the radio, sound isn't an issue because the stereo is already hooked up to all speakers in the car.
  3. Well I just got back from my vacation and I am happy to report that the journey pulled my trailer great!!!! and the gas mileage wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I still averaged between 16 and 18 miles a gallon with the trailer fully loaded.
  4. I have almost the exact same hitch as well. I just went and bought a 4'x6' enclosed trailer that I will be pulling for our two week vacation so I will report back on how it tows a small trailer in a couple of weeks when I get back
  5. I did install it myself and it wasn't to bad but I also had a lift to put my Journey up on
  6. I believe it was in the manual that I read that when the gas light comes on you have roughly 30 miles give or take due to driving style and that your readout for estimated gas mileage left per tank will show low fuel. The funny thing is if I remember right it wasn't in the section about the fuel light but the one about you estimated mileage readout
  7. Thanks for the heads up on this I just finished installing the same hitch on mine. I ordered it after I saw the pics of yours and JC Whitney had a great deal on it Thanks again
  8. I'm sure that the dealer might give you a hard time if they saw you had messed with the stock radio. I personally would just unhook the modification from the back of the radio and hide the wiring before I took it in to be checked out for a warranty issue
  9. I took a trip to california this weekend and My onboard calc and my personal calc came out very close. I had the cruise set on 75 the entire trip and I ended up at 22.5mpg and my calculations were 22.1. I purposely didn't reset my onboard calc just to see what it would do. It wasn't very accurate the first part of the trip cause it was adjusting calculations from my in city driving usually around 16mpg. But by the end of my trip it leveled off and was almost spot on as you can see
  10. Any pics yet?? I'm thinking of ordering the hitch for mine but I'd like to know how hard it was to install and what it looks like when it's finished
  11. I live in Nevada which has front plates and the dealership here didn't provide a mounting bracket <_<
  12. The trick is to act semi interested and say "I'm not sure" a couple of times and then "I just don't know if it's worth the cost" That has always worked for me when talking to the dealer about the warranty. I always get the "Well what if I could give it to you for this price"
  13. I still haven't heard it in mine and my wife says she hasn't been able to replicate it any more so I'm really not sure what it was in my case??
  14. I have the third row seating but the only seat that has the grocery bag hooks is the back of the drivers seat? Haven't really looked at many other pics to see if that was unusual or not?
  15. My wife asked me about this the other day but I haven't personally heard it yet so I'm not sure what it is
  16. For those of you who have Journeys that didn't come with the dvd screen or you had one put in after market or are thinking of putting one in. I just did a write up in the modifications thread about how it can be hooked up to your six disk DVD changer. The dealer will tell you that it can't be done but I installed mine last week on my own and it works great. Click Here for DVD Instalation Instructions
  17. Oh and for a good guide on how to modify or install an LCD screen. Mopar DVD Screen Install About halfway down the page there is a .PDF file that has great instructions on how to run the wiring
  18. OK so here is a quick write up on how to get the DVD video signal off of your stock 6 disk radio unit. (this will not work with the RES model) The picture I made shows which pin on the radio supplies the video out signal. The trick was how to attatch a cable to that pin. Well being the computer teacher/nerd that I am I had some jumpers lying around(lower left picture). I then clipped off the end of an RCA cable (12ft cabels)and stripped back just enough to put the center wire of the RCA through one side of the computer jumper and crimped it(smashed that one side of the jumper) using a pair of needle nose pliers. If you use this same method make sure that you cut away the negative wiring on the RCA so that it doesn't cause a short. Then use electrical tape to tape the jumper and RCA wire to ensure it dosent come loose. Then use the needle nose pliers to slide the uncrimped half of the computer jumper onto the indicated pin and you have video.
  19. I purchased my Journey last Thursday and asked to have a DVD screen put in so I could use the 6 disk DVD changer on long road trips for my kids. Well my wife took it in Friday to have it installed. When she got home I was surprised that what they had put in was a self contained DVD player with it's own screen. I was pretty upset and called asking why it wasn't hooked to my radio unit. I was told that the stock screen that comes from the factory has a decoder built into it that decodes a signal from the dash unit and that it was impossible to do. Long story short the guys at the dealer kept giving me excuse after excuse as to why it couldn't be hooked up to the dash unit even if I were to try it myself. Well yesterday after about six hours of messing with it I have hooked up my after market DVD screen to my radio and it works great. I'll try and gather some more info and post an entire write up later.
