I have a 2013 Dodge Journey and I've now had the "key not detected" problem twice resulting in my having to leave the car at work and get a ride home. I now carry both key fobs in case one works, but last night neither did. The dealer wasn't helpful the first time and had no idea what could be wrong. The tech I spoke with said to tap the fob on a hard surface to get it to work. I've changed the battery in the main fob with no sucess. The strange thing is the fob worked the next morning both times. I'll call the local dealer again, but now that it's working I have a feeling they won't be able to do anything for me. This is ridiculous for a one year old vehicle.
Next time that happens, you can press the start button with the rounded end of the fob and it ought to start. I've had a bit of trouble with my fob lately as well.

Was the wiring already there for the vanity lights/Homelink?
-
IIRC, there was a recall/TSB for defective door wiring harnesses. You may want to look into that. Maybe another member can give more details.

It may very well be that the picture they showed in the digital catalog was not the actual remote start that was being installed but just a representative picture... Is the factory remote start a 2-way (meaning it provides feedback to you that the vehicle has actually started)?
The factory remote start is not 2-way. AFAIK, the only option for the DJ from Mopar is 1-way (some other Dodge models I've seen have 2-way factory remote start options). Sounds like you're getting an aftermarket remote start kit.

We had remote start installed by the dealer when we purchased our DJ. They used the factory remote start that included replacement fobs with the remote start button on them. They were able to set it up so that the old non-remote-start fobs would work as well as the new ones included with the kit. Not sure if that answers your question or not.

I'm afraid that the dealer is correct...the 4.3 with navigation is not a factory configuration. The navigation was only available with the 8.4 UConnect. Now, as to whether the aftermarket navigation system caused the issues, and whether it was sold to you as being a factory navigation system, that is a different issue.

I have few doubts that they would physically fit, but my concern would be whether the wiring harness is the same, and whether the voltage being supplied is correct for the LED tail lamps. LEDs require less power than the incandescents you now have. I would concur with others--check with your dealer to see if they'll work.

Go into the Bluetooth settings on the iPhone, tell it to "forget" the Journey, then re-pair.

This happened to me on my '03 Neon. Never did figure out why...

Anyone else noticed when playing music from a USB audio source with the radio set to shuffle (particularly on 2011-13 DJ) that the radio tends to 'favor' certain songs, playing them more often than other songs? My wife has her Sony Walkman MP3 player hooked up to the USB port, and there are certain songs that it will play on just about every trip, short or long.

Maybe there should be a way to set how the vehicle behaves when you exit the car with the keys.
If you can accidentally leave the car with the keys and your spouse drives off with it, they can also accidentally shut the car off and now they are stranded far from you either way.
Same way someone can force you out of your car and drive off with your kids in it. I'd like yo be able to shut off the car with the remote, or have it shut off after a set amount of time.
The technology and hardware is there, and I'd rather use it for safety rather than convineance.
People have died from Carbon monoxide poisoning from leaving their cars running in garages, no one has died from forgetting their keys.

2011 Mainstreet here, and no cover over the spare

I just came across this today, not sure whether it's an American or Canadian website but either way it looks as if the radio is available.

P.s. Armendegga , did you ever here back from your salesman?
Found this Mopar Dealer newsletter as well. See the last page: http://starparts.chrysler.com/newsletters/newsletter.pdf

Happy to report that the Sirius is fixed! The dealer called today, and said that Chrysler had been working on a fix, and called them this morning telling them how to fix it. Something about the signal being sent to the wrong vehicle...I'm not sure. My wife was the one that talked to the dealer, so I don't have all the specifics yet, but apparently it's not an uncommon problem. Will try to call the dealer and post an update when I get the details.

Yes, you can. Just hold down on the 'previous track' softkey. You can also fast-forward through a track by holding down the 'next track' softkey.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know how much a replacement key blade (the one that fits inside the fob) is for the 2011-12? I had the factory remote start installed after we purchased the Journey, so now I have 4 working fobs, 2 with remote start, 2 without. But I only have 2 key blades, and it would be nice to have 4 complete fobs.

Does anyone know if the radio components are in the touchscreen part, or the part below it with the HVAC controls and CD player?

An update on this, for anyone interested:
Took the Journey to the dealer today to have the radio replaced due to the clock losing time (RRT 11-080). Still no sound on Sirius. Dealer said they worked on it most of the afternoon, but couldn't figure anything out. They are working with Chrysler and Sirius to try to resolve the issue.

That's odd. Does everyone else with the UConnect 4.3 or 4.3S have the compass display on the EVIC?
-
I have the 8.4N. The direction shows up in the upper portion of the EVIC. Also shows in the middle of the navigation icon on the screen. Not sure about the 4.3S, does it have navigation? The "N" in 8.4N means navigation. Not sure if that helps you, but at least a start on what to look for.
It does not have navigation. I do not have the direction showing up in the EVIC. So, either it does not have a compass, or something is out of whack. I'm leaning towards the former, but hoping to get confirmation...

One of the features I am a little surprised is missing from the Journey is a compass readout. The owner's manual and DJ app make mention of it (compass calibration, etc.), but is it only available on the 8.4N on 2011 and 12 models? Or am I overlooking it? I have the 4.3S.
Radio/CD's/MP3 Encoder sound horrible
in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.

The 4.3 head unit is separate from the screen, just like the 8.4.
