  1. I just wanted to express my happiness about owning a new Journey! My wife and I have been talking about getting one for a while and now that we have a 1 year old there couldn't be a better time. Not only is it our first new vehicle but its the only one I've owned. I think if I had to make one comment on the vehicle, particularly as a Canadian buyer it's this. The SXT is a perfect package, pretty much everything you need is in the SXT plus you get the 3.6L pentastar which is phenomenally punchy (I think punchy is a good way to describe it), which is a step up from the 2.4 in the SE. The 17" rims are perfect, you don't really "need" 19's. I love the smaller touch screen its perfect really easy to use and not too distracting it gets the job done and seems like the type of thing thats really gonna last and not be buggy. The other little touches like leather here and there and the little digital information display in the dash are great too. If you really need nav, get a GPS after the fact you know? But as far as I'm concerned all that stuff is gravy for the price tag. I feel like I bought a vehicle that should be (and some of you will probably laugh) maybe even at least $10k more. I've always liked Chrysler the first one I drove was my father's 97 plymouth neon 5 speed. It had this great sporty attitude that I think is brought out in the Journey too! Its got that sporty stance and mean grille. Anyways I wont write a book here I have one last comment and that is this: I've been doing a lot of reading of comments and reviews on the Journey and one thing that comes up sometimes is fuel economy. NO if you're wondering its not going to be a fuel sipper. BUT MAN, let me tell you you can take that sucker out on the highway and if you know how to drive; man can that thing go! No beating around the bush. If you don't really love to drive yeah sure get something else theres probably stuff out there where if you ran the numbers you might squeeze out better mileage with the same cargo space (though I doubt it because this thing is cavernous not to mention 7 passenger). But you're not gonna have as much fun doing it as if you were in the Journey. Thats it nuff said. I love it just drove to Newfoundland and back (to Ottawa) now almost 10000 k. Feel free to ask me about my trip! And how I feel about the fact that I still don't have to take it in for its second oil change for another 3000.
