  1. Hi, Both R03 recalls are done on my Caravan and Journey. I've have 2 recalls left on the Caravan, One part they had to reorder,(Defective). The other recall part won't be in until the middle of 2017.
  2. Since I'm not sure what the idle rpm is I said below 1000 rpm. I did say I put it in Park. So yes idle. The engine revved up without me touching the gas pedal and the tach stayed at the idle rpm. I know the engine revs when you start the vehicle then drops down to idle speed.
  3. Hi, I came back from the store and was backing into my driveway. I put it into park and then the engine revved up. I looked at the tach and it was below 1000rpm. I thought maybe my foot hit the gas pedal so I left it. My daughter was on her way out tonight for work and the same thing happened to her. She started it and the engine revved and she also noticed the rpm was below 1000. She took my car to work. I just came back from a test drive and it ran normal. There is a recall on my Journey. I can't remember the code but I think it has something to do with the ignition module. My Journey is a 2010 3.5L. Anyone have this happen to them? Thanks.
  4. Hi, She did not say Patterson Chrysler, She said Chrysler Canada. It sounded like it came from over seas. Again it just didn't sound right. I will visit them tomorrow. Thanks..
  5. Hi, I just received I think is a strange call from Chrysler Canada. It sounded automated. But when I said hello she asked me about a call I made to Chrysler Canada around Feb 25 about a recall. She said may I speak to the person who made that call. I paused because this didn't sound right, Then there was a click and I said I don't remember calling but I did ask here (This Forum) about the recall. She then said I will make a note, Then click . It sounded like when I asked a question the automation clicked on with a question too, Didn't ask for my name or any info. Not very professional what so ever. Has anybody received calls like this. Thanks.
  6. Hi. Yes last month. I was told again it will be a while. And he didn't have a timeline.
  7. Hi, This is a question for the Chrysler reps that are members here. I received a recall notice for my 2008 Caravan and my 2010 Journey. I don't have the recall code as I write this but it has something to do with the ignition switch and keys. I went to my local dealership with the recall and was told it would be a while for parts. That was about 3 months ago. When I originally got the notice it was over a year ago because Chrysler said they were waiting for the parts to come in and that I would receive another letter when they were in. I didn't receive that letter. With all that said. Are the parts available or I'm getting the run around from the dealership. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the replies. It does make sense that it sounds like the engine shut off. I guess we would of checked the gauges as the problem was happening.I just remembered that we received a TSB from Chrysler about the ignition switch. I cant remember if its for the Journey or my Caravan. It said they don't have the parts right now and will send me a letter when to take it in. Thanks.
  9. Hi, My wife just call me and said the power steering stopped turning and the engine won't rev. I told her to turn it off and restart, Seems everything is back to normal. Anybody have this happen? Maybe a computer problem?
  10. Hi, No resolution. I've moved to far away to visit my dealership to keep up doing the oil consumption over and over again, I heard some people had new engines put in I guess they fought hard for it. Where did you hear about maybe a valve guide issue? It's to bad we can't get a answer. Is it the valve guides? Should I change to a synthetic oil? My car has over 100,000 Km now.
  11. Hi, I can't believe they think this is normal.Seems to me these engines are a pollution problem. If Canadians are still doing the 5 yr. emission test and I fail............That's all.
  12. I said earlier it wasn't worth having a heart attack over this crap. But I'll be phoning the dealership on Monday.Went in for a oil change today. My wife's going on a trip on the weekend. Just under 2000km before the next scheduled oil change. They pulled the dipstick and of course no oil on it. Maybe a litre in the crankcase. I had them document the findings. Seems to be getting worse. Losing oil faster. I think I'll phone the auto show on CP24 in Toronto on Sunday and get some professional answers on this subject.
  13. NO NO,Don't drain the water from the mufflers. It's suppose to be there. It's when your stuck in no mans land after your Journrey overheats. You can drain your mufflers and fill your rad.I wish I had seen this thread April 1st. LOL.
  14. Well I see I'm not the only one with this problem.I started oil consumption test at around 40,000km. I'm now at 75,000km. Started about 5 different test over that period. It will show no oil on the dipstick when the odometer reads 5000km since the last oil change. They keep telling me it's within the industry standard.Even though other consumers are getting new engines. So I final gave up.No need having a heart attack over this crap. And I'm a Chrysler employee here in Canada.100 years of building cars and engines burning that much oil.Why should I pay for extra oil between oil changes when another person who has the same engine doesn't.Is there a TSB for this problem?
  15. It's been about 2 months and I've come to the conclusion that Chrysler can't be bothered to help a customer and a employee. So I'am giving up on this crap.I wasted a lot of time and gas traveling back and forth from the dealership to home.Having started a oil consumption test 6 times. There's a auto show on tv in Toronto that I should call in and get there professional opinion.I watched one show where a consumer called in and said his Toyota I think was losing too much oil.The professional said that is way too much to lose and they knew about this "Industry standard" crap.So no more Chryslers for me.Now I know why people buy imports. Thanks Chrysler, I hope the next 100 years you learn how to build a vehicle.Oh and Chrysler knows there's a problem.
  16. Started a new oil consumption test at another dealership. It will be going in next week for a top up.At 1400km since the last oil change and the oil level is in the middle of the safe zone.If that keeps up there will be no oil on the dipstick and then some at 5000km.
  17. Yes ,Thank you very much. I just sent you the info you requested.
  18. Thanks,I think I will visit the dealership and get a meeting with the general manager ,the service manager and the salesman who sold me the car. I will tell them to put aside the so called industry standard crap and to see it my side. It's hard to explain to someone who just says what Chrysler tells them to tell me.When I try to explain it they just don't get it.How many miles are on your Journey?I have about 72,000km which is about 44,500 miles. All this start at around 40,000km ,24,800miles.Wow, all that oil burning at only 24,000 miles.
  19. This came from another forum. And it's for a Jeep. Now is my math correct. 1 qt for every 750 miles.I change my oil at around 5000 km. So you guys in the States change it at 5000Miles????I don't know ,but 750 x 7 is 5250 miles.Who changes oil exactly what's on the window label. And they said that's why they made it to hold 6 qt. No oil at all in the pan? NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION: Below are industry standards for normal engine oil consumption: Mileage below 50,000: Normal oil consumption is one quart for each 1,000 miles driven,. Mileage above 50,000: Normal oil consumption is one quart for each 750 miles driven|. So, as long as a jeep with 50000 or more miles on it does not use more than a quart of oil every 750 miles they do not care, and they will not fix it!. I was also told that why new Jeeps take 6 qt's since they use so much oil".Now this tells me there is a issue when they had to put on a bigger oil pan.
  20. Just got of the phone with Customer Service and then the dealership.I'm still getting the same answer.Chryslers guide line is 1 litre for every 1600km. Showing no oil on the dipstick at 5000km. is not normal.I'm old school thats only 3106 miles.Since the last oil change it reads 3101km and that only 1926 miles.1926 miles and the oil is almost at the bottom line that marks the safe area.Again their answer is Chryslers guide line is 1 litre per 1600km.I can't make them understand that losing that much oil over a paltry 5000km isn't normal.I asked to speak to a engineer. No luck.Only the service manager can speak to them and they won't phone my home.Which mean they won't phone the engineer because the will tell him that's normal.Again why do I have to put in 3 extra litres of oil between oil changes when another owner who doesn't have my issue doesn't have to?Will Chrysler pay for the extra oil?Why do I need to keep a case of oil in the back to top up?And I can't get a positive answer to how much oil shows on the dipstick? Is it 2 litres or 3 .Is there anywhere in the manual that says, not to be alarmed when no oil shows on the dipstick. Are there any engineers on here that will tell me it's not normal. Other than doing a oil comsumption test nothing else was done to the engine to find the problem.Oh they changed the PCV valve. Can't they stick a probe in the tailpipe.Won't that show excessive carbon.I can see if all the 3.5 lost that much oil .Then I wouldn't be on here.Over 100 years of car building they build a engine that burns oil.And they say it normal.I thought the enviroment was a number 1 priority.I know I will get the same answer from the dealership and Customer Service doesn't do anything but take your complaint. There is know one else to contact. And you know the sad thing, If I get rid of the vehicle which is for sure ,someone else will buy it not knowing the oil problem.
  21. Nothing new. I've been talking to the salesman who sold me the car and he was talking to the service manager. He asked me if I received a call from her last week,And I said no. That was Friday. So he said he will talk to her on Monday.I've put on about 2000km since the last oil change and its down just below half way in the safe zone.So maybe I'll surprise them and show up at the dealership on Monday.I want something done before September because we are letting our daughter use the Journey while she's away at school.I told him no more oil consumption test. I'm on my 3rd one.I need something done. All this happened around 40,000 km.It's over 72,000km now. Thanks.
  22. I knew where the full line was,I just wanted to make sure because I checked the oil on Thursday and the oil level was up to that U shaped bend on the dipstick( I should of taken a picture). So I thought I hope the dealership didn't put in extra oil so when I went in for another oil change the level wouldnt be too bad.And say there is nothing wrong.I just checked the oil level and it's almost a 1/4" below the full line at only 850km since the last oil change.I'm getting really weird readings. All readings on level ground.
  23. Okay thanks. So Full is the top line in the crosshatch zone (or Safe Zone) NOT the U shaped bend in the dipstick above the safe zone.If this is true then something isn't right.I won't say anything more until I check the oil this morning.Thanks.
  24. Can someone please tell me where the full mark is on a 2010 Journey 3.5 dipstick.Thanks.
