  1. Anyone having problems with their 2011 Journey brakes? I have a 3.6 AWD model and just found out today that my front rotors are warped causing the steering wheel to vibrate uncontrolably when braking. They are not covered since Im just past the 12mth 12K miles warranty for brake parts. I have 16k on the car and owned for just over 14 months. Anyone hear if Dodge will extend the brake warranty for the 2011/12 model also? The dealer wanted to charge me $225 for new rotors! This is crazy, so I placed a complaint through NHTSA to advise them of the subpar brake parts Dodge is using which could lead to a safety issue. I recommend everyone with this problem in the U.S. also place a complaint via NHTSA. They are supposed to be the a company that adresses safety issues with manufactures of cars. Im going to place a complaint with Dodge and possibly the better business bureau.

Same problem here. I'll find out what the dealer says when I take it in next week.

  2. We sought out one with the third row just in case we should ever need it. With a child in our near future, I'm sure there will be times when we have guests and need to put the kid in the back. However, I would never ask an adult over 4 feet tall to sit back there. And I agree with the previous posts, it is not really possible to add a third row.

  3. Welcome Francesco! I am sure you and your family will enjoy your new Freemont. The 8.4" system is really well done and overall Dodge did a great job with this vehicle. The partnership with Fiat allowed them to take a really mediocre vehicle and turn it into something really good. The 2.0 Multijet should have great torque at low RPM, which is great for any Italian city!

  4. I like that. Please let us know what you find out.

I was at another area dealership the other day, and the Journey's on the lot did have a fitted front bumper license plate mount for the 2011 models. I double checked with the parts department at the dealership that I ordered the car from and there is a front license plate mount part available. What isn't clear, is if I need to order it, or if it comes with the car upon delivery (perhaps in a bag in the trunk or something). The dealership speculated that it does come with it because the factory knows the license plate laws for the state that the car is being delivered to. We'll see...

Here's a picture I took of a 2011 Journey with the front license plate mount:

  5. We had a nice surprise a couple weeks ago when we received a congratulations letter from Chrysler for purchasing a Chrysler service plan. I was surprised because we had not bought a service plan. After digging around on Google for a bit, I discovered that Dodge was including the service plan with the Journey Lux and Durango Citadel. It covers all scheduled and recommended maintenance for 3 years/36,000 miles. I believe it said that oil changes are at 3,000 mile intervals even though what I read online said 6,000.

  6. Thanks everyone for the responses! I figured it was just the TCM programming to maximize fuel economy, but I wanted to make sure. It will just take us a while to get used to burying the accelerator to get the transmission to downshift more than one gear.

  7. We recently purchased a 2011 Journey, with the Pentastar V6, for my wife. I noticed that when the cruise control is set, and you encounter a hill, the speed decreases quite a bit and stays that way. Last night I watched it slow down over 5 mph (8 kph) until we reached the top of the hill. This hill was mildly steep, for a highway, but none of our other vehicles have had this problem. I have noticed the same, though less drastic, on much lesser hills. We have owned many GM and Ford vehicles and have never had this problem. The Fords that I have owned would never slow down more than 1/2 mph on a hill. The GMs would usually lose a couple mph before catching back up. I am sure that this is very annoying to the people behind you.

Has anyone else had this problem with their V6 Journey?
