  1. Hey guys

I have a 2011 Journey CREW. I must say I like it a lot but have had some issues with it as well.

Before 60,000kms I replaced 2 shocks, all 4 brakes, trunk door lock, repaired gear shift 3 times, air filter/smell issues, rear camera calibration, and a few other minor issues.

I currently have 93,000 kms and have a clause in my financing that I can return it at 4 years (this April) with no strings. I took it on a 6 year.

I am afraid for the long-term reliability and if it will cost me money in the long run. Do I keep it and risk having to put money into it or do I give it back now and get something else (i.e. Honda, Hyundai, Ford, etc.)?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi guys

Been a while since I've been on here. Lots of home projects and an incoming baby taking up all my time!!

Quick question and sorry if it has been answered before, I searched for it. I have a 2011 Journey CREW with the 8.4" touchscreen. I did not opt to get the GPS as it came in an expensive package and I did not need all the other stuff (including the GPS). WHat I wanted to know is, is there a module or software I can install to have the GPS functionality? I assume all the vehicles are pre-wired?

Same question for the u-connect, as it displays the logo on my screen already but I have no bluetooth!

    Thanks guys

  3. Hey guys

It's my first winter with the truck. I just put my winter rims on and it's the 1st time on any car that I see this, maybe because the rims are hub-centric?

The front rims seem to have a "bolt" exposed and the rear ones have a hole all the way through where I can see my disc. - See pics

Is this normal or do I need to do something to protect them (i.e. grease the front bolt, cap the rear hole somehow)?

    Thanks

  4. Hey guys sorry if this was already answered. I'm at work and can't search on here too long cause our connection sucks and I'm probably sucking up all the bandwidth.

Called a garage for a quote. he quoted me 875 tax in with rims for the Toyo Observe open country. He said the rims are not OEM but there would be no issue to install them. He had done so on another journey this week.

    Think it'll be ok?

    Thanks

  5. First road trip and wanted to give some feedback on my mileage. Car is just over 1500kms, was averaging 8.8L/100km to and from Buffalo was about 400+ kms in total with an avg speed of 120km/h

Car handled great, the power was there, but just wish the engine would 'learn' more on the driving habits...I guess it still needs some time to break in more.

I also bought and installed Thule roof racks on the way back. Aside from a bit of wind noise, it did not impact the fuel economy :)

8.8? Wow that's great! Best I got was 8.9 but that didn't last the whole trip to Boston from Montreal.

  6. Wow, glad to see I'm not the only one, yet disappointed there are so many. I have 5500km on my 2011 SXT and the squeaking started at about 4500km. Doesn't squeak all the time, but usually after driving a few kms. I'm due for an oil change and will have them look at the breaks. I thought maybe there was too much dust getting on the rotors as I have very open 19" rims.

Going to dealer Friday at 9am. I'll let you guys know what they say...

  7. To clarify:

With the 8.4/8.4N system, under the settings menu, there is an option called Auto-on Comfort and Remote Start. Under that option, there is an option called Auto-on Driver Heated/Ventilated Seat & Steering Wheel with Vehicle Start. When you enable this setting, the heated driver's seat will always turn on to the high setting whenever you start the vehicle normally or with remote start, as long as the outside temp is below 40 degrees F or 4.4 degrees C.

Note that we only have the heated seat, no ventilated seat or heated steering wheel. It is just a common option name since this system is also available for the 2011 Charger and 2011 300.

    it's also on by default

  8. I'm in Canada and I have a 2011 Crew and although I ordered the upgraded sound system, it was no longer available as the Crew models were in short supply (due to the screen being on backorder). I haven't heard the upgraded system but I'm pretty damn happy with the stock system. Maybe after I heard the better one I'd think differently, but I love it. Sounds awesome when you watch movies too!

    Hi all,

Possibly a new owner of a 2011 Dodge Journey Crew here in Toronto, Canada. I wanted to inquire and see if anyone can confirm if the CREW model has a hard drive built in to the 8.4 touch screen model? If so, does anyone know the capacity?

I was told by the salesman about this, but couldn't really tell given we didn't explore the feature too much. I was then told that we could watch movies on this screen, only in park though. Can anyone confirm this that if I was to upload a video file, avi, mp4, or even a DVD, it will play?

    Thanks in advance!

They told me the same thing, but this used to be available in prior models, but discontinued for 2011. Quite the shock when I was looking for it and I didn't see a hard-drive in the Sources!!

You can watch DVDs no problem as long as you're in park

  10. Man, that is terrible. Maybe you should contact another dealer? I never got above 15L/100km when the vehicle was brand new. I'm just over 7000 kms and usually get between 11 and 13, depending on how much city driving I do.

How many kms do you get from a tank of gas?

I have 5300kms or so and since day one it has ranged between 11.5 - 12.5 city/highway, hitting 10.5 when its mostly highway. I think I hi 13 - 13.3 a few times when it was almost all city + traffic but never above 13.5

  11. Just got back from my long weekend road trip. I must say, the truck was AMAZING! I made it from Montreal to Boston on one tank and still had gas to spare for a few days of driving there (about 600-some kms). I only filled up right before we left to come back home.

The ride was very smooth, quiet. Handled great on the highway. All in all I am very pleased.

Did 120kms/hr almost the entire way.

Best part of all, See pic :banvictory:
