  1. Just got Conti's installed at CTC in London area $849.35 (including replacement tires $689.96 Replacement adv. 39.96 TSF 21.72 Tx 97.71). No charge for install and no shop charges with coupon either online or in CTC Driver mag. Pressure sensors are fine with the 235 size. I had a quote of c$285 ea. for Kumho's. I looked at Pirelli's from Costco (reduced price on June 02 but understand wear is a problem, and I looked at Falken's (72000 KM) they have a W rating (H were special order and more $) and were said to be noisy.

  2. I also had experienced key not recognized and then a notice of low battery etc. It would come and go. I thought there must be something wrong other than a battery problem since I got similar results with the second fob. However it turns out the problem(s) were solved when the dealer replaced the batteries in both fobs. I quote the dealer "who knows how long the batteries/fobs had been around before installation".

  3. I have a Husky liner in the front and Weathertech in the second and third rows. I have noticed that the right edge curls on the second row mat. No problem with Husky in the front row. I also have a Husky cargo liner. with no problems of curling. I did like the looks of the Weathertech but they did not have the front liners at the time so bought Husky for the front.

  4. I think that the dealer servicing department has a lot to do with one's satisfaction or not with a vehicle. I have an 11 DJ R/T and any time I have taken the vehicle in for servicing (oil changes and tire rotations are free for 3 years) the dealer has been exemplary in finding/fixing problems - they offer a courtesy service driving to/picking you up to wherever and anything that requires an overnight they have always supplied a loaner. I have had the following items fixed/replaced. . .8" screen (one time on backing up the screen went black - they contacted Chrysler about it and the $2000 screen was replaced), front rotors (a slight vibration - barely noticeable and not always occurring), both rear axle oil seals (discovery of slight leak in one during an oil change).

  5. I decided to update my gps . . . www.garmin.com/chrysler/

I am disappointed in the update (it installs O.K) its just that they could do a much better job for updating roads and POI in Canada. I used it in Ottawa and found that an address I entered which went by the U.S. embassy and the road disappeared, entances to some places were out of date. Gas stations in Toronto which are non existent and have been for a few years apparently according to a city dweller, and some roads in newer subdivisions that have been around for a couple of years are not available. I also have a portable garmin device and have the lifetime update 4x's per year and I think it is more up to date. And for all Tim Horton's lovers - not up to date and could be included in POI without having to type it in!!

  6. I had a similar problem with the right front brake making a noise on braking and the dealership couldn't find any issue. At the 25000 km mark my wife happend to mention there was a slight vibration in the front when braking gently. . .I took it in and the they replaced the front rotors under warranty, I did pay for the normal brake service which was coming due on the next oil change anyway.

  7. Can anybody please tell me how many floor hooks are on the drivers side in a 2012 Dodge Journey? I really want to order some WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit mats for my 2012 Dodge Journey R/T that should be rolling of the production line soon. The problem is that WeatherTech doesn't list mats for the 2012 model; the 2011 model with a single hook design is the latest that they offer. Do the 2012's have 2 floor hooks or 1 floor hook on the drivers side? I'm assuming that if the floor hooks are the same then the 2011 floor mats will be compatible with the 2012 model. Thanks :)

I'm assuming two, same as '11. I settled for the Husky brand - they were willing to manufacture with the two hook design! Weathertech didn't even respond to my inquiry. The second row Weathertech will fit as will the cargo liner. For me, I just want to keep the slush and salt stains in check. . .besides Husky was cheaper. I know because my second row liner is weathertech!

  8. I haven't tried an SD card yet but I have experienced a black screen. Went to renew my plates and on backing up noticed my rearview camera view didn't display in fact nothing worked on the screen. The next time I started the vehicle everything worked as usual. I mentioned it to the dealer and they are seeking permission to replace the touch screen. . . a $2000 item.

    Touchscreen has been replaced!

  9. We had a nice surprise a couple weeks ago when we received a congratulations letter from Chrysler for purchasing a Chrysler service plan. I was surprised because we had not bought a service plan. After digging around on Google for a bit, I discovered that Dodge was including the service plan with the Journey Lux and Durango Citadel. It covers all scheduled and recommended maintenance for 3 years/36,000 miles. I believe it said that oil changes are at 3,000 mile intervals even though what I read online said 6,000.

I got my 2011 from a dealer in London, ON and also have free oil changes and tire rotations for 3 years. I get 4 oil changes and 2 tire rotations/year!

  10. The base Journey CVP model comes with this size tire on steel rims and given that I have used these winter tires already, I can assure you that this size is correct. Just make sure you get OEM rims to get the proper fit around the brake calipers.

Decided to check with local Chrysler dealer and these are the quotes . . .surprisingly the 16" is more expensive

    16" steel wheels 146.77 arctic claw tires 235/70/16 137.80 installed 2003.31

    17" 96.34 arctic claw tires 225/65/17 163.41 1255.43

dealer will store summer tires for 'free'

  11. Update. . .since the steering wheel controls (the ones on the back of) were replaced I have not experienced any further problems with the 'flat battery syndrome'! I now have about 8000km on the vehicle. Hopefully they were causing the battery drain. . .

  12. Found this during a web search

I'm coming in late on this but I bet the problem with your car is the same I had with mine, Things started acting up and the Dealership found it right away. These have a problem with the wiring harness that passes through the doors. They tend to get pinched and it could be hard to find. The only reason my Dealer found it was because the mechanic had just came from a class covering this problem

  13. Unpleasant surprise this morning...hopped in the R/T to go to work this morning and...DEAD BATTERY!

Somebody else here experienced the same thing, also on a new '11. As I recall they figured it was due to the "auto" function for the headlamps.

I've noticed once or twice now that I'll go to my car (park inside a parkade at work) and see that the instrument cluster lights are on (but no other lights on). I've tried changing the power-off time delay settings...not sure at this point if that prevents the problem.

There must be quite a short or drain when this happens, because just having the instrument lights on is not going to kill a battery in 8-10 hrs.

Whoever this happened to...can you chime in please? Was their a fix?

    Thanks.

  14. I have had a flat battery 4 times (April 10, May 21, June 10, June 22) on my Journey R/T 2011 - electrical system always checks out O.K After the third time, the dealer contacted Chrysler engineering and they suggested the steering switches (ones on back of steering wheel that control radio etc.) should be replaced. That work was done on June 15, 2011 and the battery was again flat on June 22, 2011. The service advisors report that they have had 4 others with similar complaints. I called Chrysler customer service and was given a file number. The service advisor at the dealership wants me to have the vehicle towed in to the dealer the next time it happens and they will contact Chrysler engineering again. The customer service rep. said to call them the next time it happens for followup.
