  1. oh yea, and another thing i forgot to add. This thing doesn't lose speed very easily, so let's say I see a light is red a half mile ahead, I will just let go of the accelerate and the car loses speed very slowly, meaning that I can let off the gas pedal at a great distance away from stopping. This does not only mean better fuel economy, but you are also saving your brakes. Drive smart America (and Canada) if you see a red light or stopped cars ahead, don't keep accelerating, let your car cruise to a stop. this is one reason my father averages 26mpg both city and highway driving, mind you the epa estimates JUST HIGHWAY MILEAGE ALONE at 26mpg, so when you drive smart, you get results and you SAVE YOUR BRAKES!!

  2. Hey guys,

I don't know if you remember me but my dad turned in his 2010 journey se 2.4 corporate lease to lease a 2011 mainstreet. All i have to say is, after about 5+ months and 6000 miles this car couldn't be better. My dad drives it most of the time, but I drive it once in a while. Some things to note...

-the ride is firm, yet very comfortable, in old journeys feel like your riding in a cloud, this actually feels like a sport tuned suspension

-the steering is responsive, it's not light, you get direct feedback and the steering wheel in general has an awesome luxurious feel

-the transmission at first, even now when the car is cold, is very laggy, but when the engine is all warmed up and running, there is no lag in shifts. Also when you hammer down in the journey.. OMG this thing is a monster, it goes through shifts like no other and does not lose many rpms.

-the interior is great, the door panels are wrapped in a two tone leather and the seats give very nice support, the back seats could be more comfortable but I rarely sit there so i'm not complaining.

-the led lights in the back at night look amazing!! a huge step up from the previous models.

-gas mileage is great compared to the 2.4, this engine is perfect for the weight of the journey, my father averages 27 mpg and that includes about 20 miles of stop and go traffic and 25 miles of highway. so once broken in, it does very well on fuel economy

-THIS IS A FAST CROSSOVER, when driving this machine you are in the top 10% of fastest cars on the road, it can be fun to use the autostick at times just get a little more enjoyment.

-so far no quality problems, just had an oil change done at 5000 miles, i don't expect anything to go wrong either.

-the uconnect 4.3 is a great STANDARD system, i'm very impressed with it, very user friendly and nice features.

-the interior at night looks amazing because you have illuminated cup holders and everything in the IP with a eerie light blue glow which looks great.

-I LOVE the rear fascia, the rear diffuser gives the car a sporty look and so do the dual exhaust tips, I also like the front air dam, it gives the journey a mean look!!

-it's great for long trips, comfortable, easy to keep straight on the highway and VERY QUIET at high speeds.

Overall guys, I'm very impressed with what chrysler accomplished in the 2011 model year and the journey is one of those under the radar projects that not many people know about. My dad couldn't be happier with his lease, now granted he's prolly going to lease a new vehicle in the next 6 months, but he won't be complaiing the rest of the time he has his 2011 journey. shoot me any questions that you guys might have and i'll be glad to answer :)

  3. My wife and I do a lot of test driving just for fun. We drove a 2010, and was very disappointed. The ride was rough, and every time she braked I would slide forward in the seat. We were not impressed. Then we took a 2011 out. This was not a Journey. the vehicle drove like a dream. Quiet, a very refined ride, and an interior matching an upclass car.( Owned a Buick Enclave CXL).

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT WE LIKED IT SO MUCH THAT WE BOUGHT ONE.

what did i say, the 2011 is not a 2011, it's 2030 journey that traveled into the past and now we get to experience these great machines at a killer price and also get performance and technology all in one package.

  4. i'm sorry to hear, but i have to say, unfortunately you are on the dark side of things. Your little self could of got a loaded 2011 journey that's tons better than a ford edge. the 2011 is 20 years of 2009-10. TRUST ME, I HAD A 2010 JOURNEY SE 2.4, IT WAS a great car, did what i asked it, but quality and ride were not there. the 2011 is so quiet. look at all of dodge's 2011 lineup. i see that you bought the edge, that's great, but just for me, go to a dealership and test out the 2011 journey, you will be blown away by the quality and 8.4N touchscreen. heck test drive the 2011 charger, any 2011 car, you'll fall in love.

I'M SORRY CHRYSLER, BUT BECAUSE OF THESE LAST 10 YEARS OF POOR CARS, IT'S HARD TO MAKE PEOPLE CONVERT BACK WHEN THE 2011'S ARE ALL REFINED AND ARE LOADS CHEAPER THAN ANY COMPETITOR OUT THERE. i don't blame you though, i blame the last 10 years of chrysler. I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't be blown away by the 2011 journey. just for me man, test drive that thing so i can get my point across. the sound deadening, the price, the power, the features(most standard) the smoothness yet firmness of the suspension, it blew me away. I hate to see people leave mopar, but the 2011 is totally changed for chrysler, I know you would love the 2011. you can get so many more features than the edge with such less money.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's so hard to convince people, I can't express what chrysler has done in 2011, probably the biggest automotive turnaround in history. I could write a 5 page essay on how the 2011 would blow you away, but i feel i don't need to do that when you can test drive it and you will know what I mean.

remember people, this was the company that was in bankruptcy and was about to die. look at the cars they're putting out now, it's amazing. I hope you read this post man, just test drive the 2011 so I know you know what chrysler has done in 2011. just mind boggling insane and crazyy.

    IT'S CRAZY, WHAT THEY'VE CHANGED.

  5. Very nice ride. Interesting to see the color combo as I think that's a first for me. Works well together IMO.

As for all black being easier to clean, that is simply not true. Black shows EVERYTHING...but it does look wicked for the 60 seconds after you do clean it. Leather helps, though.

Glad it finally arrived, you really had to wait!

    Enjoy cruising in the machine!

yea it drives awesome, it has tighter steering and stiffer suspension than the charger. and the white interior i don't think will be a pain to clean, we're returning this car anyways in like 1-2 years and get another newer model, (maybe durango or challenger). so far it has greatly exceeded my expectations.

You aren't kidding that black shows everything! Any little water spot it glaring haha.

Great pics. At first I was wondering what happened to the touchscreen, but realized you have the 4.3. This is probably the first mango tango one I have seen that wasn't on the Dodge website, so I have to say, looks a lot better than I thought! Nice choice, and as mentioned, great contrast with the colours!

yea, my dad didn't want to pay the extra $15 a month for the 8.4, to be honest, he's so impressed with all the technology with the 4.3 that he would never use half the stuff on the 8.4, i'm impressed with the 4.3 also, it's just a bit smaller, and it's not like we're keeping this car.

Looks great mainMango! First time I've seen the 4.3 UC Touch too. Agree the white/black contrast interior looks good - the pearl / black leather interiors on the Lux's seem to be the best looking of the leather interiors. What are your thoughts on the meaner front fascia's? I see your mainstreet has the new one - they look good in photos, how about in real life?

so as some know, our family had a black 2010 journey se 2.4 liter. on looks, this thing is exceptional, first off, I LOVE THE NEW FASCIA, IT MAKES THE CAR STAND OUT., i love huge front air dam like it's ready to eat you up, the car looks big in pictures, but it's pretty compact and so is the fascia, but when you get inside, there's so much room.

also what i like are two extra reflectors on the back bumper, it just gives a muscle car look(charger, challenger). and i love the chrome thick exhaust tips with the matte black rear diffuser, this car screams performance with all it's outside features and yes it does perform, it's very fast. over the 2010 model, the 2011 is light years ahead with not much increase in price.

  6. So our 2011 Journey mainstreet was delivered to the dealer over 3.5 weeks ago. usually when the vehicle arrives at the marshalling center(chrysler employee spot where they pick up their cars) it takes a few days for the people to get the insurance and get the plates on and all that other crap that's a pain when you're normal owner of vehicle.

so my father asked the marshalling after a week, why can't we pick up our journey yet(they usually call when it's ready). they said there was a problem with it and they sent it somewhere else to get it fixed. not a big deal, cause it's going to be a company lease, so my dad really didn't care.

SO TODAY, MY DAD GOT THE PHONE CALL AT WORK FROM THE MARSHALLING CENTRE THAT OUR JOURNEY IS READY TO PICK UP. (he's going to pick it up tomorrow, can't wait. :shift: )

WHEN MY DAD ASKED, WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT THE MARSHALLING CENTRE SAID THAT THE JOURNEY DIDN'T COME WITH A CARGO MAT, AND THAT THEY HAD TO ORDER IT AND IT TOOK A REALLY LONG TIME FOR IT TO GET TO THEM. SO THAT'S THE STORY, HOW CRAZY IS THAT, A NEARLY MONTH WAIT FOR A CARGO MAT.

no biggy though, my father is picking up the journey tomorrow and will be turning in our slow 2.4 2010 journey.

i will post many pics, but there will be a different thread for that. :camera:

good to know there wasn't a major problem with our journey.
