  1. I would agree that it connects behind the taillight but I'm not sure about going through that rubber plug. Do you need to remove the side panels, and the rear floor panel to run the wire? There are clips and plugs attached to the harness, I wonder if the harness drops down from the taillight clipping to the metal folds along the exterior. The plugs fit into the cross member between the mufflers and route back up to the other taillight. The four pin trailer plug in nicely outside of the vehicle at the trailer hitch rather than running it out the tailgate over the bumper. I'm not saying I'm right (which is why I'm here searching) but this appears to be what it is set up for. By the way, I don't see the need to remove the bumper as earlier posted. Just like the installation of the hitch it would fit around. There is a video available on eTrailer how to install the hitch too. I hope someone can comment. Thanks!
  2. That flapping noise, that makes sense now, the front plate. Direct bolt of the front plate to the bumper is now common in most vehicles out there. Just the way it is.
  3. Do you have 19" tires? I have noticed with our '09 Journey that the tire will rub at the extreme end of the wheel turn (if that makes sense). Small price to pay for such a great turning radius. Obvious solution for this, when turning the wheel to the limit, turn the wheel back slightly. Don't let it rub.
  4. I wanted to respond to the options of switching from the 19" rim to an alternate size. Unfortunately, Kumho or any other brand do not have a winter tire in the 19" spec for the Dodge Journey. Yes you could tweak the numbers in the 19" tire selections but then again you probably have alloy wheels and would like to have a second set of rims for winter. The dealer was aware of the problem and ordered on spec six sets of tires, rims and wheel sensors. I really wasn't happy with the $1400 bill but at least I had a second set of wheels. The steel rims ordered came in with tires of 225 / 70 R 16. Compared to the recommended 225 / 55 R 19 there is a 1.1% difference in diameter causing the speedo to be out by 1 km/h (too fast). Going to the 16" rim gave me so many options for tire selection. Tires purchased were the Hankook iPike and were excellent this past winter. My big concern was the possibility of reprogramming of the wheel sensors EVERY time I switched the wheels. I was wrong. There is no reprogramming required at the dealer. The wheel sensors re-program the computer themselves by driving at a speed above 50 km/h for something like 10 minutes and the adjustment is made. Too easy. Now spring and I need to replace my all-season (summer) tires and have one choice (Kumho) in the exact 225 / 55 R 19 tire size. I am considering the 235 / 50 R 19 tire size. Much more selection with only a 1.7% difference in diameter causing the speedo to be out by 2 km/h (too fast). There are options!
