  1. 2011 all wheel drive 3.6L 33,000 miles

A few months ago I started to notice that our DJ when running around town < 35 mph the transmission would shift right up to 5th or 6th gear and hang onto that gear. The motor would start to lug and you can hear a slight noise from underneath. It takes a healthy stab on the peddle to get it to downshift but then the transmission goes right back to the higher gears. It is so annoying that I started to shift it manually when running around town I never go higher than 4th and that works great. I wish we had a button we could press and override the top 2 gears when we want.

Has anyone else noticed this and do think one of the programming changes might resolve it. I don't really remember it acting like this when it was newer. I have though about disconnecting the battery and letting everything reset but so far I haven't done that

    Thoughts anybody?

    Thanks

    Niles

  2. This past Saturday the light came on again. I got home, shut it down and checked the oil and it was full. I restarted and the check engine came on and when I checked the oil pressure info screen it showed zero. I called the dealer and they gave me the 800# to call Dodge customer service and had it towed to the dealer. Monday they worked on it and it was pumping oil and the codes set were both oil pressure related. They put on a new oil pressure switch and gave it back to me. It is fine so far.

  3. Big engine...we get around the advertized milage, 26 highway, upper teens around town (small town). I don't think we started to get those numbers until the there was > 3000 to 4000 miles

I have to recant...Now that I am driving the Journey full time my in-city milage is only in the 14

  4. Yesterday morning and this morning the oil pressure light has come on. I checked the oil level and it is just above the "safe" mark on the dipstick. The oil has about 3K miles on it. Anybody else have this happen? I assume this would throw a code, looks like another trip to the dealer.

    Edit...2011 Main Street, V6 with 21000 miles

    Thanks

  5. We just joined this group of 2011 owners with brake problems. We just had our front rotors and pads replaced yesterday at the dealer and they were NOT covered under any warranty. The car has 20,400 miles which is way too soon to have bad rotors, IMHO. They gave us an 800# to call but it just rings busy but I'll keep trying..

  6. I am sorry I don't. I heard from the dealer today and with some discounts on parts and labour they got the price down to $1,100. Still way too much for the option,

What I do know is that the parts have to be purchased separately. The module that goes up under the steering column is $701 and the insert on the wheel is apx $100 and about 5 hours labour. I am told that if the manufacturer puts it in a kit, the price could drop by as much as 50%. I am at a loss to figure this one out.

Needless to say I will stick with my $100 Motorola Roadster for now. It works well but not the same as it would if it was integrated into the vehicle sound system.

Well this ended up where I thought it would...very expensive. My wife dislikes this car so much I don't see here wanting to spend 1100 bucks. I t will be interesting to see if anybody actually does the conversion.

  7. My wife drives our 2011 Journey but back in the summer I had it once and I accelerated hard from a standing stop but the tongue steer was so bad I had to back off...has anyone else experienced this? Her car is the V6 (pentastar) and AWD. One of her previous cars was an Acura MDX with a big v6, front wheel drive with the rear drive on demand and it didn't do this. I thought it was pretty scary and haven't tried it again. Thoughts?

    Thanks

  8. Big engine...we get around the advertized milage, 26 highway, upper teens around town (small town). I don't think we started to get those numbers until the there was > 3000 to 4000 miles

  9. I was wondering if you ever gotten your issue resolve with the dealership.

No not yet. We have a friend that works the service desk at the dealership and she told me last week that she checked again and was told maybe February 2012. In the meantime we have a Bluetooth ear piece coming from Amazon and we will see how that works. I believe some of the run around here is the part never existed in the manuals (fishes) so the parts guys were at a lost. Until cooperate issues new diagrams with the part number for the kit they don't even know what to look up. I also wonder\question if this will ever get resolved. We have the 8.3 screen and the Infinity stereo so I doubt that just adding the steering wheel buttons will resolve the issue. My dealer verbally told us that he would do it at "cost". I'm thinking that unless Dodge steps up to the plate on this one (fixed small charge) I may not want to spend whatever the cost may end up being.

This is my wife's car and she doesn’t really like it. For her this Bluetooth thing is a big issue it has been in the shop 4 times and one of those was for 7 days after the car quit on the interstate. You know the old saying "A happy wife is happy life"

  10. Thanks for posting the before and after. In another thread I posted that ours (bought in March) was the newer fascia but it is obvious from your pictures that it is the old. To be honest I think I like the old better. It seems kind of odd these mid-year changes.

  11. Most of the sales guys are under the impression that the bluetooth comes with the 8.4n!!!! I live too far from my dealer to try it myself so I had my salesman go attempt to pair his phone with an R/T on the lot. He was quite suprised that the bluetooth was a seperate option. I was special ordering so it is coming with.

There is no way that they should have made this an option! It is 2011!! Bluetooth needs to be standard!!

We went through the same thing. Our confusion started when the 8.4 screen booted up and said U-Connect so we were thinking it had Bluetooth until we tried a couple cell phones. The sales manager got on the computer and found out what you found. We haven't heard back from the dealer yet. I’ll let everyone know what happens. We are supposed to get whatever it is for cost and free install....we will see.

  12. My wife just got a '11 Mainstreet AWD and according to the window sticker we have the Customer Preferred Group 28E. In this group is the 8.4 touch screen, 6 Infinity speakers with subwoofer and a 368 watt amp. Where is this stuff located inside the car? I'm not really impressed with the overall sound and can't find where to do any adjustment for the sub on the 8.4 screen so I'm wondering if it is really installed. We will ask the dealer but I thought I would try here first.

    Thanks
