Yes it does work
Key "on" engine NOT running
Push accelerator down 3 times slowly within 10 seconds-it will reset I change my own oil & reset it myself no problem-unless you have a malfunction
Well after I and many others tried to get the warning to go out I took back to the dealer. The service manager came out and was going to show how easy it is. After many, and I do mean many tries, he went back to the shop and got a tech.
Tech sat down
Tech turned the key to "on"
Tech SLAMMED the throttle to the floor 3 times FAST
Tech turned the key to "off"
Tech said" sometimes you have to do this twice"
Tech then repeated the above
Warning when away
I think it was scared. It may never come back again :o

I had the same problem, was driving me crazy..... then depressed accelerator 4 times instead of 3 out of desperation and it worked!!!!
I've tried everything mentioned in here at least 5 times and nothing has worked for me yet. It just keeps telling me to take it to the dealer. It seems there must be a simple reset somewhere that did not get into the manual.
If anybody has found it PLEASE lets us know.

Did you have an oil cooler installed? Is it necessary? Would only be pulling a small popup. Supposedly the 3.5 with the 6 speed auto already has the trans cooler according to the manufactures specs.
Mine came with the Tow Package installed. I would check with the dealer to see if the cooler is installed and if not should you need it. I don't think you should take a chance considering what these things cost.

bump..
any pics??
Whoa! Woke me up there. I sent you some picts via e-mail but Iwill also put them on here. I like it better than the aftermarket ones I found because it does not stick out the back when the hitch is off the Journey.Sorry about the dirt. Mud season here in Vermont. The 5th season we get each year.

Any comments on how well the Dodge installed OEM hitch for the Journey works? Any recommendations on aftermarket hitches for the Journey? Pros? Cons? Price differences?
Thanks.

I had the OEM hitch installed on my R/T. I like the fact that it does not stick out in the back. Very little of the rear bumper is removed, perhaps 1 1/2" and a cover strip is placed over the edge. If you look quick you won't see the hitch at all. The unit mounts vertical instead of horizontal and and is almost invisible when the hitch is off. It is however a little more expensive, but after all, the vehicle cost over $30000 so I wasn't going to fret over another $100 or so with installation.

Lucky you. I ordered an R/T AWD on May 6 and am still waiting. ETA at dealer has been changed 3 times and is now Sept. 1 which is Labour Day. Fat chance.
Good luck to you. I ordered mine on June 26. It was built and out the door on July 26. Delivery date was Aug 8. It still has not been delivered. Now, Sept 12, I am told it is in Newark, NJ. Good luck to me.
If Sept 26 comes and they still don't have it they can keep it. If you can't deliver a product in 3 months you should not be selling it until you get the kinks worked out of the system. If you try you just get off customers.

Mmmmm, that would depend on what you mean by "properly adjusted". Having spent several years driving trucks, I want my mirrors set so that I can see along both sides of my vehicle. It's pretty hard (for me, anyway) to back into tight spots if I can't see how close I am on both sides. That's why I'm such a proponent of blind-spot mirrors.
After driving Tour Coaches for over 42 years, I agree with you completely. Mirrors should be adjusted so the the side of the vehicle is just visible on the edge of the glass. That way you have a reference to base your moves on. Since I have never been able to "look over my shoulder" I would not be bothered by the blind spot.
Bothered a little about the fact that I ordered the Journey 10 weeks ago and have not seen it yet.

Hi folks
We ordered our R/T Journey last June and are still awaiting it's arrival. Should be at the dealers on Thursday. We hope to pick it up on Saturday the 30th.
Reset the "Oil Change Required" warning....HOW?

(What's a OBDII scan tool anyway) :D
