  1. I have just installed mine yesterday and I'm wondering how long it too you to do the job, mine took about 4 hours (for the hitch and wiring). My mistake was that I was trying to save the fasteners that are not reusable, but I didn't realize that until I was reassembling the bumper. Also I'm glad that I did not drop the mufflers as other people indicated, that is a scary proposition, the rubber mounts are extremely stiff, you don't have to do that if you remove the bumper cover. And my big surprise was when I went to Chrysler today to buy new fasteners, needed 10 of them, they want , are they completely MAD? So, if I was to buy 10, they would have cost as much as the hitch itself, this is not right :slapfight: . I happen to work in injection molding and I know that producing things like this would probably cost about $0.15, what is the point of asking 100 times the price? And really all that is required are the pins. How did you do for replacing this fasteners? I bought some different style at a local store, but there is no equivalent available.
  2. warped rotors would also give you a nice shake on the steering. You might not feel it during braking, but at higher speeds it may become noticeable.
  3. actually Journey is way above any Mazda SUV, it drives so smooth that you won't believe, get the good stuff and compare prices, thousands of dollars less for a proven vehicle. Concerned about the brakes? They have just upgraded the warranty to 2 years/40K. The Journey is by far the best deal in its class.
  4. Finally it worked, both on the Journey and the 300M. Follow the instructions below (received from Homelink) Rolling Code Programming: 1. Press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons until the indicator light begins to flash (after 20 seconds)or the display reads "Channels Cleared". Do not hold for longer than 30 seconds. Do not repeat this step to program additional HomeLink buttons. 2. Place the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches from the HomeLink button you want to program. 3. Simultaneously, press and hold both your HomeLink button and your hand-held transmitter. Do not release either button until step 4 has been completed. (If you reside in Canada, refer to the "NOTE" below.) 4. When the indicator light changes from a slow blink to a rapid flash or the display reads"Channel Trained", release both HomeLink & hand held transmitter buttons. 5. Then go to your garage door opener motor head unit in the garage. Locate the "Program" or "Learn" button. Usually near the hanging antenna wire on your garage door opener motor head unit. (The name of these buttons vary by manufacturer, please see your garage door openers owners manual for the location of this programming button). 6. Press and release the "Program" or "Learn" button once, like a door bell (1 second)(Do not hold this button down. Holding this button down for too long will erase all Remotes, Keypad and other HomeLink equipped vehicles). There is 30 seconds in which to initiate step 7. 7. Then go to your vehicle and firmly press and hold your already programmed HomeLink button for three seconds and release. Do this procedure a second time and depending on the Brand of your garage door opener you may need to do this step a third time to complete the process. The garage should now activate when the programmed HomeLink button is firmly pressed and released. If not, give us a call or refer to the "Troubleshooting Tips" noted below. NOTE: If you reside in Canada, replace step three with the following: Press and hold the desired HomeLink button and "cycle" the hand-held transmitter. To cycle: Press and release the hand-held transmitter button every two seconds until the indicator light changes from a slow blink to a rapid flash(step four).
  5. never got any luck with the Genie Chainlift garage door opener, 3 cars, same problem. Seems to program, just doesn't work, just ended up attaching the keychain remotes to the upper left corner of the windshield. Pisses me off, but I'm over it.
  6. the best I've seen was a 5 seater at $17.5k, so a seven seater is probably good at that price. They did receive large discounts from Chrysler for the year end. I also got the Gold Plan extended warranty for $1700 or so, could have bargained a bit, but I was not in the mood for haggling on that. However the plan does not include oil changes anymore, I was not a big fan of that since I prefer to go to wherever I feel like at the moment without appointments and I also enjoy doing the service by myself in the warmer months.

    White R/T

long time fan of Chrysler, this is my 5th of their models, still own a 2002 300M which I love. I'm not really sure why they replaced the sporty 300M with the boxy 300/300C, side by side I'll always pick the M model. They should have continued to sell them side by side, they are sharing the same platform. Anyway, the new Journey replaces a Nitro that came to the end of its lease term, just did not feel like buiyng it out. I liked the Journey the first time I saw it parked on my street 3 years ago, but they came into production about a year after I got the Nitro, I would have taken the Journey instead. A really smooth drive so far, if it comes to brake problems I'll just replace with better rotors and pads, not a big issue for me, and I also took extended warranty for 5 years, never know when you might need it. And I'm happy that there is a forum for the Journey, thanks for your effort to crete it.

    Where do you live?

Oakville, Ontario, just west of Toronto. I love the Journey so far, only 200Kms on it so far, more to come.
  9. the Uconnect is an option in the entertainment section, at least this is how I see it. Good to have, I had this on my Nitro that I just replaced today with an R/T.
