  1. Wow, all the complaints sound like my experiences with the Toyota Camry, most expensive maintenance vehicle I've ever had the mis fortune of buying, I bought the Journey to replace our 2002 Durango (192,000 miles and still ran great), have had it for 18 months now with absolutely NO problems. It takes up to 7 people (four children and a teenager included) through the snow or the desert in great comfort and very surefooted (R/T AWD) as well as economical, I even tow a cargo trailer with it, did I mention it looks great in black, and we bought it new for 22.5k. The only thing I would improve is a little more power (used to the V8 Durango).
  2. Don't go by the trip computer, do the actual math. Mine (R/T AWD) read 12.9 and I actually got 15.5, another time it read 23.8 and I actually got 22.0, and if you do use the trip computer you should reset it completely every time you fill up, otherwise it gives you a running average that is not usually very accurate.
  3. I've got the 2009 all wheel drive, but I've had to use snow cables (not chains) through the Sierra Nevada on really bad snow days. I purchased the snow cables at "Autozone" for about $60.00. So far they have held up nicely.
