  1. Are you the same bobthebuilder from LXForums?

Chrysler would have to see if the problem is isolated, or wide spread first

    i seriously doubt that,

1 - they would replace the transmission if water was present, unless the trans was unserviceable

2 -they would deny there's an issue with water entering the transmission

3 - can't afford to replace the transmission

    (1) They would source the problem; how and where the water is entering, rectify the problem and retrofit those transmissions that are in use

    (2) They have an extensive and diverse data base on all repairs performed to their vehicles at dealerships, so if the same issue is found in many vehicles, they would issue a TSB and corrective actions.

    (3) They have insurance for this, or in instances where Chrysler doesn't manufacture their own parts, the vendor would be liable.

  2. I just bought a 2011 Journey Crew and I am not a very good negotiator. The dealer told me employee choice gets you the invoice price + $25. I did not see the invoice and have no idea if that is what paid? I also paid all of the dealer fees and bought the extended warranty without negotiating it at all.

Do they have to be honest and give you the true invoice + $25? They said it was employee pricing on the 2 years extra bumper to bumper warranty with no free service included but it seemed pretty expensive (although I still bought it because I am a push over). I seen you have 60 days to cancel extended warranty....I am thinking about going to cancel and hope they offer it to me for way less because I think it is probably a good thing with all of the electronics in the car.

Did anyone else get employee pricing in Canada? What kind of discount did you get on car, warranty, fee's, etc. Thanks:)

employee choice discount (from what I understand) is for Chrysler Employees, family and friends.(ONE PER YEAR) I used one for the Journey from a dear friend at the Brampton Assembly Plant.

While discussions with the salesman, he offered $25 over invoice, I was waiting for confirmation on the Employee Pricing. I declined his offer and waited for the discount.

When the deal finally came through and he found the Journey with all the options we wanted, the salesman said that even he could not buy that vehicle for what I was paying.

I got to see the original invoice (had to sign off on it too) wasn't allowed to keep a copy though. the EP discount also applied to a service contract and extended warranty. and all otion packages

Also all discounts offered by Chrysler were honored at the time i think it was 2500$ off

So I'm thinking what you were offered was a dealership employee discount.

  3. I'm at 15.36 l/100km average for the last 6000 kms.

65% city 35% hiway, no towing all on winter gas mix of mid grade and hi-test

    average 356,1 km per fill

    average $124.1/lt <<<edit (should be cents/lt)

  4. The park lockout mechanism just stops you from shifting from park when you are not pressing the break pedal. I don't think it has anything to do with engaging or disengaging the starter.

you are right , I was thinking something on the line of the vehicle not reading that it was in park.

  5. Journey was a no go this morning. Pressed the start button and everything lit up but would not engage the starter. Remote start was also a no go. Battery was still up so I don't know. Tilt Deck tow truck just picked it up and gone to the dealer. How depressing.

    Miles

    Park lockout mechanism<<my guess

  6. You need to use the fobik (key thingy) to lock the doors, which enables the alarm system. All new vehicles sold in Canada need to have an anti theft system in place. In our case its an alarm.

if you want to test it, put a window down, close and lock the door with the remote, then unlock and open the door manually, the alarm should sound. turn off the alarm with the panic button on the remote.

  7. most likely the catalytic converter heating up and burning off the residuals from manufacturing it. nothing to worry about. if you had you vehicle undercoated, it could be the undercoating melting off the exhaust system,

if you notice any smoke, then check for the source of it

  8. I'm sure the dealership can turn them off. They'll most likely charge you an hour's worth of labour though.

I personnaly don't think your HID bulbs would blind any oncoming traffic as it would be daytime, and you can always turn your low-beams on if you think the HIDs are anoying anyone.

the DRL use much less power than you normal low-beams so HID used as your DRL should still be less powerful than your standard low-beams.

    hope this helps,

    keep us in the loop

  9. i have a few dear friends that work at the Brampton Assembly Plant, and I was fortunate enough to get an "Employee Choice" discount for the Journey. Basically there was zero negotiation, it was at dealer invoice price on everything from options, to extended warranties, to service contracts. The salesman at the dealership said he could not personally buy the vehicle for that price. I had to sign the dealer invoice as part of this process. They let me look over the invoice but I could not get a copy. Had to initial all the extras too >>extended warranty >>service contract

As for the 2500 in your case, he's probably telling you the truth, as these are Manufacturer Rebates, and they can change from month to month. I've found that those rebates/incentives can, and usually do, carry over to the new month, or reappear after one month. As was the case with 0% financing when I purchased, it took a 1 month hiatus in September but returned in October.

  10. probably one of the wheel sensors. There's a calibration technique for my 05 Magnum where you turn the steering wheel (with the car running) to the left limit then to the right limit then to center, while the trans is in park.

Not sure if it would be the same on the Journey
