  1. Yes it was from the vent that you showed. My dad disconnected the power supply directly to the glove box earlier, no glow right now but I haven’t driven it or turned it on since he did that. Thanks for your help. I truly don’t know why you are so willing to help an internet stranger but I more than appreciate it. Nice to have a sense of community.
  2. I hear a click/tap sound once when it is turning on and again when it is turning off. One is slightly higher pitched I guess you could say. It sounds like a switch I suppose
  3. Hello and thank you for reading!! My 2013 Journey had issues in May including not starting without a booster, speedometer needle dropping (no loss of acceleration), flickering interior and exterior lights and the ABS, parking brake and traction control lights would intermittently flash and beep while driving. Apparently the mechanic replaced the battery cables but for the past 2 weeks I have been in the same situation. When I am driving everything is fine until I hear the glove box light turning on and off. Then all the other symptoms begin. I was told by the same mechanic it is either a faulty wire or cluster gauge. I am hoping for a less expensive fix. If anyone has had a similar issue please let me know what worked for you! The glow of the light in the glove box after the car had been turned off and door was opened and shut again.
  4. My 2013 journey has been having trouble starting for well over a month. I use a portable booster to start it but sometimes even fully charged that won’t get it to turn over but the next day it will. I disconnected the fuse for the HFM and a few others I don’t need. When it does start, the moment I pull away, the parking brake, ABS and stability control lights come on and it beeps once, at the same time the radio screen goes black then the lights go off and the radio screen comes back on. Sometimes it does this a few times while I’m driving. Today I started it and noticed the light inside the glove box getting brighter and dimmer very noticeably. It wasn’t consistently the same for more than 2 seconds and seemed to be in sync with a whirring noise I heard from somewhere under the hood. After I boosted it today the car switched from km to miles and °C to °F. For 3 years something to do with the heater behind the glove box makes a periodic “click click click click click click” noise when the car is on and once a few moments after it has been turned off. Apparently a gear isn’t catching. Could this be the cause of the parasitic drain? The battery and engine light never come on. Thank you for your time!
  5. Hello! My 2013 began having problems starting over a month ago. It started with a portable booster and I took it to the mechanic. He said the starter, alternator and battery are fine, something must be draining the battery. He couldn’t figure out what. Now that I have it home, sometimes it will start with a portable booster and other times it doesn’t. Seems to not like the cold wet weather. I’ve had a new alternator and battery installed within the last year. Starter was replaced within the last year and a half. I am thinking of purchasing a battery charger and leaving it to charge every night then bringing the battery booster with me. What do you guys think or recommend?
