  1. Hello guys,

Please can someone direct me to where shift interlock solenoid is located in 2019 Dodge journey.

My DJ always shows "R" in the cluster when it parked. Also, always show reverse when i'm driving.

Sometimes, it will not shift out of park when i press the brake. All my brake lights are working fine.

I have replaced the following:  floor shifter assembly, shifter cable, Range Sensor.

The Range sensor was inside the valve body in the transmission fluid pan. Maybe i should change the complete valve body?

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

i typed in 20119 journey 2.4 eng where is the trans range sensor located and this came up on fix ya site.................

SOURCE: 2002 dodge stratus 2door coupe 2.4 engine automatic transmission. Pulled code p0705 which is transmission range sensor. Where is the transmission range sensor located on this car and is this a easy f

The range sensor or neutral safety switch as some call it is mounted on the outside of the transmission where the shift cable post is located, the sensor goes over the post. See picture below.

I just found out my TRS is located inside my transmission oil pan.

    Strange!!!

if you have the 2.4 then you dont have the 62te transmission ( 6 speed),,,,you have the 4 speed trans    also what is your miles on this journey this part may be covered under the Power train 5 yr 60 k warranty

    my mileage is over 68k

DO you know which part number might be related to my own transmission range sensor

I assume that you are talking about the 6-speed 62TE transmission.  The range sensor is located inside the transmission near the valve body.  Per the service manual you have to pull the valve body to access it.  You can find plenty of Youtube videos that show how to pull the valve body from a 62TE.

    I have 2.4LT

are you saying this is not and easy fix? I pray this 2.4l is not going to be inside the transmission

  5. Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the previous help.

I have 2019 Dodge Journey SE. When started, the reverse camera comes on and the dash shows "R" and message "Vehicle not in park" This started just few days ago.

Once i put it in drive, it will work normal until I park it again. Furthermore, the first gear is very very slow. its makes the engine sounds like you are force it to work.

I pulled code of P0706, P0731, P1790. I pretty sure P0706 will fix all the other codes.

Does anyone knows the location of the Transmission range sensor ? on 2019 dodge journey.

Voltage equals current (amps) multiplied by resistance(ohms). v=I x R

Would need to know amount of current the valve is drawing when under load. Meter can measure amps as well.

Resistance (ohms)  is used when testing a coil. The wire harness energizes a coil built into purge valve that moves valve and makes a click noise.   Set meter to ohm setting and measure across the two pins coming from the valve with plug removed. At room temp a good purge valve is 28-36ohms if your meter is decent. Even close to that should be fine. No measurement  found means bad coil.

If your meter has a setting that beeps for continuity, use it. It tests power flow,  beeps with probes touching. Should beep if leads are connected across the two output pins on valve. No beep means bad coil, problem solved.

Thank you very much. You have really helped me to narrow down the power. I have ordered for a new Purge.

A used purge valve I have measures 14.2 ohms  with a meter, it’s a functioning used valve.

I think valve is spring return with power only intermittently to have carbon canister release fumes into engine.  Probably works with battery voltage. I would think cold start up would trigger it on with 12 volts for  10-15 seconds.

If you have patience, the wiring diagram will be in this link. Not a friendly data base unfortunetly

I guess i would start using the ohms meter to check my volts. I have always used power probe that gives me Voltage rather than ohms.

What is the conversion of 14.2 ohms in voltage? I mean, if you have 1.7 volt, what would that be in ohms

Furthermore,  I had ABS issues, then I fixed it by replacing ABS sensor and the brake light switch sensor.

My brake light still come on. I checked all the brake bulbs and brake oil. The brake light flashes when the Parking brake is engaged. Stopped flashing when disengage. This brake light stays on and no fault code

Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  9. Hi guys,

    I got P0443 on my 2019 Journey 2.4L.

I tested the two wires going to the purge valve,  they both shows 1.7volt while the vehicle was running.

One shows 1.5 and second wire is 0 when vehicle is not running.

My question is, does anyone knows where the feed wire is coming from?

I'm I getting the right voltage? I used power probe.

Can you help me check your purge valve volt?

Do you have the purge valve wiring diagram?

Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well, I finally upgraded my 2014 SXT. I took out the 4.3s and installed the RE2 receiver, the 8.4" screen, the new bezel, and the lower stack. I also installed the factory backup camera as well.

The receiver, screen, lower stack, and bezel were pretty straightforward and easy to install. '14 Charger receiver, '13 Journey screen, '14 Journey bezel, and '11? I think, lower stack. I included some pictures below of some things I hadn't seen others include as far as how to remove the trim and whatnot. My wife and I really enjoy the upgrade, makes the interior feel much less "base package" and more complete. I, like others, haven't fixed the temperature controls on the screen but I haven't given up yet. I've talked with guys from my dealer and realized they're not going to be much help as this is the first radio they have even unlocked. Thanks to this forum I had more information than they did. I've talked with Uconnect who did not have info for me, and talked with Dodge corporate and they referred me to a larger dealer in the area but I haven't gotten a hold of them yet.

I played with the controls and found that when I "sync" the temps, the front and back hvac behave as one. That's nice as we have small kids in the back. If the knobs in the back are turned then the sync is broken and the rear acts independently. It also seems that even though the sliders on the climate screen maintain the nefarious "22 degrees" mark, if you slide them up or down it seems to lock that temperature in even though the slider moves back to the middle a few seconds later. The satellite radio still worked fine, so the free subscription apparently didn't get kicked back.

The dealer charged me for 1 hour labor for the combined unlock code and flashing the backup camera. Like I said above, this was the first one they've done. I had all the info they needed (even though they didn't know they needed it) thanks to this forum.

I bought the backup camera from the dealer (they were able to have it the next day). It came with detailed instructions that, at times, were not completely accurate as it was written in 2011. It was pretty involved to install - let's say it's not for the faint of heart. I took some pictures of that process that I've included below as well. You really do have to remove quite a bit of trim and one of the rear seats (If you have the third row). It's definitely doable if you're handy though, and I learned a lot about the car while doing it. I fished the wires a couple of times so that is one thing I would recommend if you're planning on doing it. My wife and I REALLY enjoy having it. The blind spot behind the car is especially bad without the camera if you have a car seat in the third row.

I couldn't figure out how to insert larger pictures....

Hello, please can you share with me the camera pin location at the back of the radio. I upgraded from 4.3 to 8.4. My previous camera display through rearview mirror, but I want to move it to the bigger screen. 2019 Journey SE

  11. Hello,

Please can someone help me with a repair service manual

I upgraded my 4.3 radio to bigger which is 8.4. Everything is working perfectly except my reverse camera that still display on my rearview mirror.

When i put my car to reserves, the big screen triggered and display blank with check surrounding message.

I need to find the video feed wire at the back of the radio harness in 2019 Dodge Journey SE so that i can wire from the rearview mirror to the video feed.
