Frustrated mom

Hi i have a 2012 Dodge Journey, And every couple of days when I go to start it(push Start) it won’t start and it makes this clicking sound all the lights work and radio but car won’t kick over . And this red volt shows on the dash and the check engin light come on to and I’m left stranded after a couple hours it starts back up ...... please help
