  1. What's funny is while I was trying to buy one in the lot a friend of ours bought it out from under my without knowing. I'm glad though, because i ended up ordering one and got the better end of the deal with Nav and some other options that his didn't. Also, haven't seen more than one, then one day I come out after my tennis match and bam...there is one parked right next to me...same color, different interior.
  2. Sorry, can't help on the downshifts...I live in central Michigan and I can see about 300 miles straight away as we have some of the flattest land in the world...the biggest hill we have is our driveway. However, I have noticed the excessive shifting a lot. The 6 speeds really make the Journey shift way more often than I'm used to.
  3. Mud flaps are very easy to install...please don't pay a dealer. Usually they line up with holes already in the well and you just screw them in. I haven't gotten them yet for my journey, but installed them on others.
  4. update: it arrived!!! well, not exactly, but I have a brand new Journey. The first two that were ordered showed up without Nav - exactly why I ordered one int eh first place since we coulnd't find Nav anywhere. So at the last mintue, my sales person locates one 130 miles away and gets it to me last night. This thing is awesome. I'm so happy I got the Nav. There are so many options that it will take forever to learn how everything works.
  5. Update...not here yet...I was told it would be here Monday now. It is in Michigan only an hour away. Too bad I can't just drive there and pull it off the truck myself. I'm not getting anything yet. I love installing all that kind of stuff later, getting deals on Ebay, etc. I will likely tint the front side windows a little, get a hitch, add a little chrome, and some interior stuff. However, I'm not sure yet if this is mine or my wife's so that will determine how much I do to it!
  6. Heard my weekly update from the dealer and it looks like I may be driving mine off the lot Friday. It's the second order (from above), but the exact same. He said they plan on getting it Friday morning and having it prepped by Friday afternoon. yeah me!
  7. I ordered pretty much everything you have Seth, except I ordered AWD...I even have the same colors as you. After reading all the posts here, I am amazed at the process and don't think they really have a system. PS, I'm Chris...Jim is the dealer.
  8. His answer, "Of course"! Sounds like my new Journey is coming soon!!!!!!!!!
  9. Get this...from my dealer: "Monday Morning Update ----- Here’s where reality is stranger than fiction. Yours (VON) is still statusing as “scheduled to be built”. But a week after you ordered yours, we were told by the factory that we needed to add one more order for our final shipments before build out. So we said, OK just make it the same as the one we just ordered (yours). So as of this morning, yours is still to be built. The other one, an exact duplicate of yours, is already built and has been shipped to Texas. We have an estimated arrival date for Midland of 6/28. We'll keep you posted. Jim" I asked him to let me know if I can get the first one in.
  10. Thanks...how often should I call for an update? I'm going to have a hard time if I have to wait as long as you...you must be way more patient than me!
  11. found it...I'm on D still...how often does this stuff change? Any ideas on how long it takes from D to picking it up? 12. I know I saw it here, but now I can't find it...can someone post what the letters mean for delivery again? For example...Dodge says I'm in D status...what's that mean?
  13. Midland, Michigan...sorry, didn't see my other post above.
  14. Midland, MI Canada seems to be well represented on this site. Other vehicles are: Explorer sport trac Chysler sebring sedan Honda Shadow
  15. I had one of those on my Jeep Grand Cherokee a few years back...used it for a couple of months, then put it in the garage after that, never to use it again. They are nice if you live in an area where cars get broken into a lot, but with the heavy tint on the windows, it shouldn't be that important. That is, unless you keep your porn in there and don't want people to see it! lol
  16. I'm right there with you guys. I can't wait to get mine in...hoping it is before the gas incentive runs out. I truly believe gas will be $5 next summer and higher after that. I think those who chose the $1,000 will be regreting it a year from now. I do understand the dilema of not havig the cash flow to do it, but in the long run, you are going to be better off with $2.99 gas.
  17. Guys, great stuff here. Thanks for posting those videos. Ordered one with Nav, but no dealer has one around to even look at. This will help my expectations. I'm a little ticked it won't work with Ipod though.
