  1. I am looking at purchasing a Journey here in the UK (2.o ltre Diesel engine) and I must admit there seems to be quite a few people with big problems on this forum so having second thoughts at the moment. Couldn't be doing with the MPG you guys in the States get though! The Diesel Journey with manual 6 speed box here in the UK returns about 52mpg on the open road and between 38-42 in town. When will you guys learn that if you have a frugal car, the oil reserves will last so much longer for everyone??? Westy
  2. I am thinking about getting a 2.0ltre Diesel Journey to replace my tired 178,000 miles 2 year old "X" type Jag estate. I had the Jag mapped and it made a huge difference on MPG, taking it from 46mpg to 52mpg, and the power output was much better. BUT! and this is a big but. I had a few issues 6months ago where it would not start in the mornings and put it into the local Jaguar dealership to have it repaired under their unlimited mileage 3year warranty and they were able to see that it had been mapped and refused to do anything under warranty. So it ended up costing about £1500 to repair it which wiped out a lot of the fuel savings I had made due to the mapping. My question is: If I purchase a Journey and have it treated by the guys in this thread, will it be seen when in for repairs/service by the dealer? What are the service intervals as I do a lot of miles each year? Westy
